Hi Dennis!

Try the link below for an online converter.  I use it all the time, and it works great.

Anyone know of a PDF to HTML or TXT convertor?  It is just frustrating to try to navigate some complicated PDF manuals I need to read.

Thanks,

Back in the day, HTML was one of the AR Options; I miss that.  It may be going around Robin Hood’s barn, but you could put it into Word and save as either one or the other, as long as you have 2013 or better.

Google Sheets is a way for multiple people to work on and share a spreadsheet. There is all Google Slides and Google Docs. You can determine who you share the Google Drive products with and what level of editing is available. It is frequently used in schools but can be sued any time you need to work on something with others. The commands are different than commands for Word, PPT and Excel. You can do a Google search and find a list of commands.

Listen to the latest FS Cast for more information, it sounds like there will b official Edge support still with Jaws 18 and this was demonstrated at CSUN in March.

Since Jaws 19 comes out in 6 months and the Jaws 19 public beta will most likely be available in 4 months I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a Jaws 18 update with Edge support later in May or in June. In the meantime there really is no reason to be disappointed, it’s not like there aren’t other good browser options out there, I would say with one or two exceptions Google Chrome currently is the best choice available.

Hello,

In the publically released JAWS 18.0 builds, Edge support is not yet available.

Information will be provided by VFO soon on when it will be ready.

It takes a lot of time, and effort to do it, since it requires to re-architect large portions of JAWS.

Shai,

This is a situation where I'd either call Freedom Scientific Technical Support, the Microsoft Accessibility Technical Support line, or both.

It's obvious that this used to work and now is no longer doing so.  It's often very difficult to determine "which side is at fault" and sometimes it's a little bit of both.  My guess is that a bug has been introduced somewhere and it's going to be up to the two parties who are producing the code to figure out where and how.

Hello Brian,
Thank you for your email. The article I read is this one:
https://support.office.com/en-gb/article/Use-a-screen-reader-to-insert-audio-or-video-in-PowerPoint-2016-eec53a01-24b4-45b9-bf01-6dbe53a9f0a2
in this article, it lists the same steps as you have outlined in your
message, but when I press alt plus n then v and press enter on online
video in a slide content area, JAWS does not allow me to enter the
embed URL or does not announce anything in this dialog other than
insert video button. Pressing enter or space does not invoke any
action, and tabbing across does not announce also.
I hope this helps to clarify things

I have Office 2010, but the first two steps are the same and they've changed
the last two only slightly

* Hit ALT+N to show the Insert Tab
* Followed immediately by V (video control)
* Followed by O (online Video)
* Then search for the "From a Video Embed code" edit box and paste the
embed URL for the video.

I can't really speak to the controls within the PowerPoint presentation that
are the result of the YouTube video being embedded at all. It appears just
as it does on the YouTube page, so if you're familiar with the controls
you'd use while browsing YouTube on the web those would likely work.

When you're in PowerPoint in design mode I can delete a video just by
getting the video box selected and hitting CTRL+X to cut it.

Problems with windows creator

Pablo Morales

HI all,

I have installed the windows creator a few days ago. However I have found some problems that I didn’t find with the previous versions.

·         Jaws 18 last release crash when I am working on excel, or word, or outlook 2016.

·         OneDrive for some reason is working very bad. Trying to upload files to be share between several computers, I heard upload locked almost every time.

·         Jaws is working very unstable

·         Now 32gb is not enough memory to work. Before I didn’t have these memory problems.

·         This situation is happening in 3 different computers with I7 processors and 32gb of ram.

Guys, there is something that I should modify, or just I need to go back to the previous windows 10.

Thanks

List Rules, Mon, 5/1/17 #cal-notice

main@jfw.groups.io Calendar <noreply@...>

List Rules

When:
Monday, 1 May 2017
12:00am to 1:00am
(GMT-04:00) America/New York

Description:
The following is the current version of the JFW Mailing List policies. These are sent out monthly, and also available from:

http://groups.io/g/jfw/wiki/List-Policies

**List Policies**

1: Keep it clean. We're a family list, and there are people here who probably don't want to hear everything *exactly* that's running through your head. If you wouldn't see it on TV, it doesn't belong in a post to the list. If you're not sure, email the administration before you post it to the list. Otherwise, you stand to see your posts moderated.

2: Stay on topic. We're a JFW-oriented list. That said, anything related to JFW, its functionality with programs etc is acceptable. If it doesn't have to do with JFW, it doesn't belong on the list. This includes, but isn't limited to, talk of other screen readers such as Window Eyes.

3: Listen to, and respect, the wishes of the admins/moderators. If you're asked by an admin or moderator to drop a subject, or take something to private emails (in the instance of two people carrying on a thread list-wide), please do so. If the subject is changed on a thread by an admin or moderator, it will be explained why in the email sent out with it. Please don't continue replying to the old subject.

4: Don't ask over the list for a position on the list administration. If you'd like to help out, it's of course welcome, but address the request to do so to the admin team, otherwise it'll be ignored. Requests are always welcome, whether help is being looked for or not. When help is needed, a post will be made to the list. The requests already received will be kept in mind.

5: Keep flaming to a minimum. This is not limited to flaming of each other, but goes beyond that, to flaming of products, opinions, ideas, suggestions, etc. Constructive criticism never hurts. Flame wars, especially public ones, both drive people from this list and are unwelcome here. either take the problem to private emails, or report the problem to list administration.

6. Respect the opinions and views of others. This is *very* important in any environment, most especially an online environment where the only gage one has on a person is what that person puts to writing. If you come off as hostile in your posting, whether you intended to or not, people will take it as such. Online, "face value" means just that. People make mistakes, people don't always have access to the same information you do. For that matter, people don't always have the same experience you do. If you know how someone can solve their problem, great. Suggest it to them and/or the list. Do *not* proceed to tell someone, on or off list, that they have no business posting. Repeat offenders of this particular rule will be banned for a week to 30 days, depending on the severity. Serious problems will be banned permanently.

As always, if there are problems or questions with regards these policies, don't hesitate to send them off-list to jfw+owner@groups.io

James,
List Admin

Doc Tom, I have these for keyboard with tablet:

If you use the keyboard:
Escape key - Back\
Home - F1
F3 - Settings
Control-alt- r - Rrecent screens
Control- alt- n - Notification screen
Review screen -n press Alt-Up, Down, Left or Right Arrow keys
Alt-Enter - Activate an item
Alt-Shift-Enter - Long press. Long press is when you double tap and then on the second tap you hold your finger on the item until a context menu pops up with extra options for that item.

I have gone to Google to try to obtain a complete list, but so far, have not found them like I did for Windows 10, Word and a few things like that.
