Re: Need Accessible Website Hosting / Creation Referral
Richard B. McDonald
Hi Jennifer!
What I have found so far is that Drupal (drupal.org), in particular Drupal 7 is supposed to be *very* accessible. Also, I have signed-up with BlueHost; a hosting service. This seems the way forward. I am just starting out doing this webmastering stuff myself too. Maybe we can share learning experiences together?
Best, Richard

I have ben doing some research on setting up my own web site and have not found a lot of great information.
It does seem that basic management is possible, especially if you use Wordpress to set it up. Everyone I have spoken to, or found referencing the experience on line, had sighted assistance for the original creation. That is even true of the Mystic Access people with the new sight there. One blind person I know uses Bluehost and after getting it set up with some assistance, has been managing it herself.
If you learn more, I would appreciate it if you share. :)
I am not affiliated with Mystic Access, but I did notice they have a tutorial for Wordpress that I am thinking of taking myself.

I had a look at this and I don't think you can just sign up as an individual, this is made for companies and while it says this is currently free until the end of September, I doubt that even if you could sign up, you would get much out of it unless you are part of a company that uses it.

Re: Win 10's lock screen?
But if you disable for it to ask for a password when it goes to sleep it should only require a password when you reboot or start it up after it was turned off. Anyways, in Windows 10 you can also change it from a password to a strictly numeric PIN. Just as on the iPhone whatever length you make the PIN it will automatically submit the entry after you type in the required numbers. For example, I have an 8-digit PIN which I can type on the keypad in no time at all and since it’s a PIN I don’t have to press enter afterwards.

I remember this emphasis option from

have a clue as to when it removed. It was located in the same place where
you adjust spell rate & upper case pitch.

Re: Increasing Emphasis & Inflection
Lisle, Ted (CHFS DMS)
Don’t think I remember that, Mike. The reasoning behind the extra voices is they’re supposed to be more “natural,” and over the years they have improved. Nonetheless, I still go for Eloquence for the smoothest flow. Whether or not they give Olivier or Hepburn a run for their money, I seldom have to ask for a repeat, and I can’t say that yet about any of the new voices, not even my beloved Karin.
