Yes, the number pad does still work, I use a full keyboard, with the JAWS

lap top lay-out. Just remember you have to press caps lock twice if you ever want to turn it on. Using the JAWS laptop keyboard lay-out gives you the best of both worlds in my humble opinion. You can use laptop keys and regular full size keys as well.
