There is another approach that is pretty easy, and is good if you expect to
filter a column more often than once.

When focused on the row of column headers (any column header cell is fine)
Press Alt+Shift+L. Now each column title will announce the title and "auto
filter drop down". When on the column of choice, press Alt+DownArrow to
bring up a list of filters and sorts you can perform on that column.

To turn off that feature, press Ctrl+Shift+L on any of the column titles.

You’re very limited with what you can to with the book such as, bookmarking, searching and so on. I ran into a software last week for a consumer of minds and I steered her to the website. 1st let me clarify a mistake I made in an earlier post.  There were 2 items in my last returned order.  An Epson scanner & an extended warranty.  From the order confirmation email there was an order link number for each item.  I clicked on the link number pertaining to the scanner, & I was taken to the Amazon sign-in page where I signed in, so I'm assuming that was the regular website.  From there I navigated by heading to this order, & from heere I used arrow keys to find the return option....

 

I can't reenact this return because they've already reimbursed me & I can't continue giving blow by blow steps.  Sorry about that.  I can tell you that I went through a few different screens to get it finished & get a return label printed up.  If you want, send me your order confirmation email off list, & tell me what you want & I'll see if I can getter done for you.

JAWS Not Starting At The Windows Log-in Screen, A Possible Fix, Updated

Hi Again All,
Note: The steps below were performed running Windows 7 & JAWS versions 15 thru 18.  These steps won't work with Windows 8 or 10, & why they won't is below my steps.
For those of you that have Jaws set to start at the Windows log-in screen, but it doesn't, this might work for you.  I looked in, msconfig, & found that JAWS Freedom Scientific wasn't at the top of the list on the Start-up Page / Tab, so this is what I did.
1. Press, Windows key + R, to open the run dialog.
2. Type, *msconfig*, without the stars, & press enter.
3. Press, control + tab, until you get to the, Start-up Page / Tab.
4. I arrowed down the list, & unchecked any items above, JAWS Freedom Scientific, on the Start-up Page / Tab.
Note: Only uncheck the items / programs above JAWS Freedom Scientific, & nothing else.  Pay close attention to what you uncheck because you are going to recheck these items / programs shortly.
5. Tab to the, Okay, button, press the spacebar, & tab 1 time to, Restart, & press enter to restart your computer.
6. Once your computer is booted up repeat steps 1 thru 3, & you will notice that JAWS Freedom Scientific is now at the top of the list.
7. Now, arrow down the list of items / programs on the Start-up Page / Tab, check the items / programs that you unchecked previously, & repeat step #5.
Now Jaws should start on the Windows log-in screen when your computer starts.  I did the above steps on 4 different computers, both desktop & lattop, &I'm not going to say it works everytime, but it sure works most of the time, which I can say is a damn site better than before I followed the above steps.

This doesn't work with Windows 10.  In 10, when you get to that StartUp tab,
you have to click on a link that takes you to Task Manager.
In my 10, the items in the StartUp tab seem to be sorted by name; not the
order of running.  Also in my 10, I have an Enable/Disable button as opposed
to a check/uncheck items.  So, I'd have to do more research to determine the
order in which the programs are loaded and how to change this order.
I've done a Google search and can't find anything that tells me how to do it
easily.

not handle start up items, the task manager does.

It will only work from Windows 7 and down.

Thanks for sharing your experience. However, does not work for me that way here with Win 10 and latest IE explorer. When I go to the return center, either through the website directly or through the link in the email I got when ordering the product,  I have a list of orders from most recent on top and in a descending list I then enter on the one I want and there is only one check box which JAWS announces as unchecked There is a continue button but it does not go anywhere until that box get checked. Possibly your order has many different things in it? The other thing I don’t understand is how your checkbox got checked if you didn’t do it?

 

This is all relatively new behavior over last couple of months. I used to return things all the time with absolutely no problems.

I just returned something the other day, & when I went to the page there were several checkboxes for the item I wanted to return, but as I arrowed down past a few checkboxes there was the item I wanted to return already checked.  The checkboxes I arrowed past were only unchecked checkboxes, & it was the 4th or 5th checkbox down that had the products name, & Jaws reported checkbox checked.

I believe that checkbox was checked because that was the only item in the order.  The other checkboxes I mentioned couldn't be checked for whatever reason.  I do have to say that everytime I use that freakin return webpage it's another freakin learning curve!  LOL  For the record, I'm runningWindows 7 & Jaws 16.

JAWS Not Starting At The Windows Log-in Screen, A Possible Fix

Hi All,
 
Note: The steps below were performed running Windows 7 & all JAWS versions.
For those of you that have Jaws set to start at the Windows log-in screen, but it doesn't, this might work for you.  I looked in, msconfig, & found that JAWS Freedom Scientific wasn't at the top of the list on the Start-up Page / Tab, so this is what I did.
1. Press, Windows key + R, to open the run dialog.
2. Type, *msconfig*, without the stars, & press enter.
3. Press, control + tab, until you get to the, Start-up Page / Tab.
4. I arrowed down the list, & unchecked any items above, JAWS Freedom Scientific, on the Start-up Page / Tab.
Note: Only uncheck the items / programs above JAWS Freedom Scientific, & nothing else.  Pay close attention to what you uncheck because you are going to recheck these items / programs shortly.
5. Tab to the, Okay, button, press the spacebar, & tab 1 time to, Restart, & press enter to restart your computer.
6. Once your computer is booted up repeat steps 1 thru 3, & you will notice that JAWS Freedom Scientific is now at the top of the list.
7. Now, arrow down the list of items / programs on the Start-up Page / Tab, check the items / programs that you unchecked previously, & repeat step #5.
Now Jaws should start on the Windows log-in screen when your computer starts.  I did the above steps on 4 different computers, both desktop & lattop, &I'm not going to say it works everytime, but it sure works most of the time, which I can say is a damn site better than before I followed the above steps.
