Hi Pablo,

There is usually more than one way to skin a cat and that also applies to many tasks in Excel, Word etc. Here is what I do:

Let's assume you want to select everything from cell A1 to J73, in other words, 10 columns and 73 rows.
First, go to the beginning which in this case is A1.
Now press Control+G for the Go To command and type in J73.
Lastly, instead of pressing enter to go to J73, press Shift+Enter, this will go to J73 and select all cells from A1 to J73 in the process.

Take care,
Sieghard

Ok, control + G is the keystroke to go to the cell that I want. But what is the keystroke that I need to do to say, I want to select from this cell, then go to the cell what ever cell, and say again, I want to stop selecting hhere. I know how to navigate, but my problem is how to select those cells.
Just pressing the shift key is no going to work, because shift down, plus control + g is no going to work.

if you know the top left cell and the lower right cell, you can use the go to feature to select the range. for example, activate the go to feature, type a1:z10 and press enter. everything from a1 to z10 will be (should be) selected.

this also works if you should need to select more than one range. each range is separated with a comma.

In excel, I am trying to select the values between two very distant cells.
How can I select two distant cells, when the distance is that long that just holding shift and navigating through the arrow keys doesn't make sense.

Thanks for all,

FS regularly pulls this trick before it jacks up prices. Buy the SMA
package now or get zapped in the new year when you need to upgrade to
be compatible with current software. If you can't afford it right
now, putting it on a credit card is cheaper than waiting for a few
months.

Hello, everyone.

My intent with this e-mail is not to stir up controversy,
but to try to get the truth regarding upgrading a Jjaws SMA.

Here's my situation:

My current Jaws SMA ends with Jaws 18.

I recently received a mail notification from Freedom
Scientific advising me that I can renew my Jaws SMA for the
next two Jaws upgrades for $120, as long as I do so by
December 31. In a followup conversation with the FS
Customer Service Department, I was told that if I wait to
renew my SMA after December 31, that cost will go up to
$180.

I was always under the impression that the $120 SMA renewal
cost figure would be the same as long as you renewed your
SMA prior to the next major Jaws update.

Perhaps I am mistaken here, and wonder what others know
about this issue.

I may not be able to renew my SMA prior to December 31, and
just want to know what to expect, or how to advocate for a
fair price.

Thanks!

Jaws SMA Renewal Question

Hello, everyone.

My intent with this e-mail is not to stir up controversy, but to try to get the truth regarding upgrading a Jjaws SMA.

Here’s my situation:

My current Jaws SMA ends with Jaws 18.

I recently received a mail notification from Freedom Scientific advising me that I can renew my Jaws SMA for the next two Jaws upgrades for $120, as long as I do so by December 31.  In a followup conversation with the FS Customer Service Department, I was told that if I wait to renew my SMA after December 31, that cost will go up to $180.

I was always under the impression that the $120 SMA renewal cost figure would be the same as long as you renewed your SMA prior to the next major Jaws update.

Perhaps I am mistaken here, and wonder what others know about this issue.

I may not be able to renew my SMA prior to December 31, and just want to know what to expect, or how to advocate for a fair price.

Thanks!

Thanks, Keith, this did the trick for me. Apparently doing an upgrade from one version to another (at least not when it's a minor version) does not update the SMA count.

It works in 2013. I tried it, but fixed it back with ascending like I like it, but the Alt-V and going through the ribbons will get you to Arrange by, and in 2013, there are nine options. But to get it back to ascending, after getting it back, I had to go to Alt-V-V-S.

The only version of Outlook that I have access to is Outlook 2016, where it's under the View tab, in the Arrangement group box, under the "Arrange by"
submenu. After pressing the button to invoke the submenu, you're presented with a grid of options, including the option to arrange by sender (the "from"
address).

I don't know how different this is from older versions of Outlook, but I'm making an educated guess that it's probably similar and that if you look at the options under the View tab, you should find it.

Hola!

I am taking this upon myself to warn one and all that when pursuing the latest JAWS 18.nnn upgrade with AVG on your Win10 machine...it will crash the new installation.

And, it is a pain to rectify.

You must Uninstall AVG from your machine and then run a JAWS Repair.

It may require your contacting the Microsoft Accessability Line at;

Freedom Scientific cannot assist in this matter since they cannot log into your machine without a working JAWS copy running...as they told me.

AVG Crashing JAWS Upgrade Installation

George Gray

Hola!

I am taking this upon myself to warn one and all that when pursuing
the latest JAWS 18.nnn upgrade with AVG on your Win10 machine...it
will crash the new installation.

And, it is a pain to rectify.

You must Uninstall AVG from your machine and then run a JAWS Repair.

It may require your contacting the Microsoft Accessability Line at;
(800) 936-5900 for their assistance, as did I.

Freedom Scientific cannot assist in this matter since they cannot log
into your machine without a working JAWS copy running...as they told
me.

Freedom Scientific has not made this problem public, therefore, this email.

Thank you, all.

Re: selecting long ranges of cells in excel

Lisle, Ted (CHFS DMS)

Treat it as though you were defining a function or formula--a1:z10.

How I specify what is the range?
If I press control shift down arrow, it will select the all values between
the range of values in a row, or in a column. But I don't need all of them,
I need the most part of them. In Ms word we have the control + windows key,
to create a temporary place marker, and later insert + spacethen M, and we
select from the temporary place marker until the last position on the
document. I am looking for something like this, something that allow me to
select from one specific point, until a second specific point.

Ok, control + G is the keystroke to go to the cell that I want. But what is
the keystroke that I need to do to say, I want to select from this cell,
then go to the cell what ever cell, and say again, I want to stop selecting
hhere. I know how to navigate, but my problem is how to select those cells.
Just pressing the shift key is no going to work, because shift down, plus
control + g is no going to work.

if you know the top left cell and the lower right cell, you can use the go
to feature to select the range. for example, activate the go to feature,
type a1:z10 and press enter. everything from a1 to z10 will be (should be)
selected.

this also works if you should need to select more than one range. each range
is separated with a comma.

Hello all,

In excel, I am trying to select the values between two very distant cells.
How can I select two distant cells, when the distance is that long that just
holding shift and navigating through the arrow keys doesn't make sense.

Thanks for all,

From 2007 all the way to the current version, it's been in the same spot,
sir.

The only version of Outlook that I have access to is Outlook 2016, where
it's under the View tab, in the Arrangement group box, under the "Arrange
by"
submenu. After pressing the button to invoke the submenu, you're presented
with a grid of options, including the option to arrange by sender (the
"from"
address).

I don't know how different this is from older versions of Outlook, but I'm
making an educated guess that it's probably similar and that if you look at
the options under the View tab, you should find it.
