I tried to share Yesterday with a few people and some people can hear the
singing and others don't. Is this synthesizer specific? Do people need to
be reading their email in plain text or html in order to hear it?

I apologize for prolonging the thread for those who may consider it
frivolous, but I can't explain to anyone why it does or doesn't work for
them, so thought I would ask for input.

Hi Graham,
you have associated notepad to another program & it cant open it, but
no problems its easy to fix.
read all my steps first before you carry them out.

ok need to open regedit
open the run box by pressing windows r,
now type in regedit & press enter to open the registry.
if you have been in the registry before then it will be open to the
lask tree you were on, if this is the case, then keep pressing the
left arrow till you hear, computer closed, now we are both in the same spot
now press the right arrow to open computer
to navigate through the keys use down arrow & right arrow to open them
now you need to navigate to the below key, I have put the path in a
list so its easy to follow, when alt tabbing back & forth from this
email to the registry.
now down arrow & right arrow to open each of the following, till you
get to the last one, wich is open with list

HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Software
Microsoft
Windows
CurrentVersion
Explorer
FileExts
.lnk
open with list

ok once you have landed on open with list
tab to go into it
now you will find the following 3 keys, keep reading dont delete anything yet
(Default) REG_SZ (value not set)
a REG_SZ AcroRd32.exe
MRUList REG_SZ

now you need to delete the second & third key only, you will need to
hit yes, do not, do not delete, (Default) REG_SZ (value not set)
only delete
a REG_SZ AcroRd32.exe
MRUList REG_SZ

once you have deleted both of them,
shift tab once to land back on, open with list
now down arrow twice & you should land on
user chois
dont tab into this one, just hit delete on it, again you will have to say yes.
ok now we are done,
alt f4 out of here &
now you will need to reboot
once rebooted all should be back to normal.

Let me know how you go

Hello there;

Assuming you have some ILM key's available,
Just place the cd with the 20
Digits on it, into the drive,
And follow the prompts.
If you don't have a ilm remaining, you will need to reset with FS.

While I am reading messages in Eudora, when I delete the first
message, it re-reads the last line I am focused on in the message
before beginning to read the next message. If I tap the "next
sentence" key while auto-reading, (the right shift key), it often
stops and then goes to the next message, but it is kind of problematic
when I do that.
If I change the view to Eudora's internal viewer, it matters not,
still the same behavior. This did not happen in the betas, only with
the full release of JAWS13. It does not happen using JAWS12 or earlier.

Once we have a precise idea what the numbers do, a programmer could easily automate all of it. We'd just have to write the note names and values.

If I change the view to Eudora's internal viewer, it matters not,

Hi Graham,
you have associated notepad to another program & it cant open it, but
no problems its easy to fix.
read all my steps first before you carry them out.

ok need to open regedit
open the run box by pressing windows r,
now type in regedit & press enter to open the registry.
if you have been in the registry before then it will be open to the
lask tree you were on, if this is the case, then keep pressing the
left arrow till you hear, computer closed, now we are both in the same spot
now press the right arrow to open computer
to navigate through the keys use down arrow & right arrow to open them
now you need to navigate to the below key, I have put the path in a
list so its easy to follow, when alt tabbing back & forth from this
email to the registry.
now down arrow & right arrow to open each of the following, till you
get to the last one, wich is open with list

HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Software
Microsoft
Windows
CurrentVersion
Explorer
FileExts
.lnk
open with list

ok once you have landed on open with list
tab to go into it
now you will find the following 3 keys, keep reading dont delete anything yet
(Default) REG_SZ (value not set)
a REG_SZ AcroRd32.exe
MRUList REG_SZ

now you need to delete the second & third key only, you will need to
hit yes, do not, do not delete, (Default) REG_SZ (value not set)
only delete
a REG_SZ AcroRd32.exe
MRUList REG_SZ

once you have deleted both of them,
shift tab once to land back on, open with list
now down arrow twice & you should land on
user chois
dont tab into this one, just hit delete on it, again you will have to say yes.
ok now we are done,
alt f4 out of here &
now you will need to reboot
once rebooted all should be back to normal.

Let me know how you go

I finally received a response from Freedom Scientific on this problem. They instructed me to remove my authorization. However they told me to use Jaws11 to complete this task. Then to reauthorize Jaws. To my surprise this solve my problem of Jaws saying that my authorization was for an earlier version of Jaws.

Singing JAWS and Word 2010

Dondi

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out how to turn on back quotes in Word, I guess their
actually called smart or curly quotes. I go in to options in Word and I go
to proofing. Then I tab to auto corrections and press enter. Then I
control+tab to auto format as you type tab. And tab down straight quotes
with curly quotes and select it and on select it. Then I control+tab to auto
format tab I tab down to straight quotes with curly quotes and I select this
and have unselected this. I say I have selected these and the unselected
because I tried this both ways and I never get the curly quotes. Anybody
have any ideas? I have Word 2010, and JAWS 12, Windows 7.

Also when I press Alt and type in 8245 I get the back quote but it's
proceeded by CHS.This is only a problem in Word 2010.

Let's forget all this supposed singing; Jaws is JOB ACCESS WITH SPEECH and
what you are producing here is slow and Jaws cannot carry a tune. I would
rather hear what works and what does not and although I am not the list
moderator, this stuff is a waste of my time, take it privately or open a new

anything but some pitch changes and they are slower than molasses in

Let's forget all this supposed singing; Jaws is JOB ACCESS WITH SPEECH and
what you are producing here is slow and Jaws cannot carry a tune. I would
rather hear what works and what does not and although I am not the list
moderator, this stuff is a waste of my time, take it privately or open a
new
list. I don't mind music that what I have heard cannot even qualify as
anything but some pitch changes and they are slower than molasses in

Re: Unable to open Notepad

2.g.i <2.g.i.84972@...>

Hi Graham,
you have associated notepad to another program & it cant open it, but no problems its easy to fix.
read all my steps first before you carry them out.

ok need to open regedit
open the run box by pressing windows r,
now type in regedit & press enter to open the registry.
if you have been in the registry before then it will be open to the lask tree you were on, if this is the case, then keep pressing the left arrow till you hear, computer closed, now we are both in the same spot
now press the right arrow to open computer
to navigate through the keys use down arrow & right arrow to open them
now you need to navigate to the below key, I have put the path in a list so its easy to follow, when alt tabbing back & forth from this email to the registry.
now down arrow & right arrow to open each of the following, till you get to the last one, wich is open with list

HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Software
Microsoft
Windows
CurrentVersion
Explorer
FileExts
.lnk
open with list

ok once you have landed on open with list
tab to go into it
now you will find the following 3 keys, keep reading dont delete anything yet
(Default) REG_SZ (value not set)
a REG_SZ AcroRd32.exe
MRUList REG_SZ

now you need to delete the second & third key only, you will need to hit yes, do not, do not delete, (Default) REG_SZ (value not set)
only delete
a REG_SZ AcroRd32.exe
MRUList REG_SZ

once you have deleted both of them,
shift tab once to land back on, open with list
now down arrow twice & you should land on
user chois
dont tab into this one, just hit delete on it, again you will have to say yes.
ok now we are done,
alt f4 out of here &
now you will need to reboot
once rebooted all should be back to normal.

Let me know how you go

At 06:37 AM 10/29/2011, you wrote:
Please can anyone advise me why when I press enter on notepad from my start button file I get a message saying: Windows cannot open this file and gives me a couple of options on what to do, look on line etc, the extension lnk is mentioned.

Why am I having such much hassel in simply trying to open Notepad?

Regards

Graham
