why can't I access MLB scores

ken lawrence

Hi list, the Jaws research it is only working with weather. It says to enter a search in the mm/dd/yyyy format a two digit month, a two digit day then the four digit year but no matter what I try the research it says Jaws found no results. both when history is retained or not retained. I can’t read MLB scores. any idea why since for some reason now NFB newsline has made the Associated press sports section worse they seem to now get the ticker so now instead of game recaps, you now get every pitching change, every hit or scoring update as it is happening. there are over 100 or 200 items in that section now. it is absolutely useless. you can tell it is a ticker because of the letters and numbers at the beginning of each item. I just want scores and summaries.

recommend taking further discussion to private emails, please.

Seriously, try a Windows Find command an dsearch for something similar to
the name you THINK you saved it under. Or, try going into Word and looking
at the list of recently-opened files on the file menu.

During this year 2011, since January the 1st; I have felt led to compile some promises that God had spoken to me in His Word each day. Sometimes, I would just type prayers, or Scripture with me writing comments after them.

I should have called this document "A JOURNEY WITH GOD instead of "GOD'S PROMISES TO ME." Actually, the document has just been called God.dox. I am not sure why Window's didn't grab all that title, but it did not.

Anyway, I had just finished typing this morning, what I felt God was speaking and was trying to save it with "control key and the letter s." However, I accidentally pushed, I believe the alt key along with the letter A. No big deal, it just simply took me back up to page 1; at least that's what it read. So, I simply pushed the "Control S" to save and then closed the document with "alt F-4." However, just this afternoon, when I opened the document, it is totally blank. I cannot seem to find the 161 pages of document!! Do you know what might have happened to it?? I just feel bad about this. Please let me know your opinion.

Marquette, Ed <Ed.Marquette@...>

YIKES!
It sounds like she didn't hit Alt plus A, but rather, Control plus A. That highlighted everything. If she hit a key after that, she replaced everything in the document with that single letter or character.
At that point, she could have pressed Control plus Z to reverse the last action.
Instead, it looks like she saved an essentially blank document over her other document.
Of course, she had a back-up copy of the document stored elsewhere. Right?
If so, she should just retrieve the back-up. It will, it is hoped, have most of the contents, minus the last few entries.
If she doesn't have a back-up, she almost certainly will in the future! <SMILE>
Seriously, I think the document is entirely gone, but if someone on this list knows a way to get it back, other than through a back-up, I'm all ears!

I'm using XP Pro and IE7. For me, usually it's in the Control Panel under
Add/Remove Programs. If not, then from within IE use:

Tools/Manage Add-Ons/Enable or Disable Add-Ons. Then tab to a combo box and
select show Add-Ons currently installed in Internet Explorer. Then tab to a
list and locate the Google Toolbar. Then tab to a radio button to select
disable. then tab to OK.

compatibility view in IE 9

ohio1803@...

Happy Independence, everyone.

I am using the latest update with JAWS 12 with a Windows 7 Home Premium pc, and Internet Explorer version 9 for my browser.

I am trying to best understand how to use the Compatibility View.

What exactly does it do?

Do I need to go and hit spacebar when each page loads to utilize the feature?
In other words is it an ON and OFF switch that I need to launch each time?

I have noticed there is improved navigation to the text I want to read on some pages when I use it.
I am curious to hear how others are using this and to learn from your experience.

At first I heard about this from JAWS speaking about it, and thought that once I would hit spacebar to turn it on, that would be it.
But I am starting to think otherwise.

Thanks.
Rik

Sorry, I thought the list would have some experts to suggest possible
solutions. I found that submitting comments to Mozilla's support also
requires visual confirmation/verification, so that wouldn't help things.
Is there another blind-friendly list to discuss this with that won't take
verification to log in or post comments? Webvisum is very busy and slow
to respond. Thanks anyone.

Hi list sorry to report this but, we may not ever have it back.
webvisum was disabled the other day when Firefox 5 was installed. it
seems mozilla has decided that they will now release new versions of
firefox every two months. the word on the NFB graphic user interface
list is that webvisum will likely give up trying to update it since
there is likely no way for them to ever keep up with this new
timetable. Thank you mozilla for caring so much to protect the internet
from us dangerous blind hackers/spammers. I wouldn't get my hopes up
for a screen reader to have it built in since if they can do that, the
real spammers would be able to do it to so that would defeat the whole
need for capcha.

that one you would have to take to a group, I'd ask it on both the
blind geek zone and/or the list provided by web visum I'm having some
odd difficulties with my current system and can't get web visum to run
correctly here on my main, but it loaded and ran fine on my secondary
and tertiary computers, so I don't have a good answer for you!

sorry,

Webvisum sent me a new password; I logged in with the new password and
tried once again to install the plugin, but still I can't get it to
work--I get the "unavailable" message following the "install button"
prompt. Is there an issue with my system or browser security settings,
or do I actually need an invitation code in addition to the password?
Do I need to upgrade Firefox to use this copy of the plugin? Thanks.

there is a spot, pardon a link where you can fill out a "request"
and get an invitation to web visum, if you remember your address and
sign in password (the same ones you input into web visum so it could
automatically sign in) you can go and download it again, I would use
revo uninstaller to pull out the old web visum, and then reinstall a
new copy.

or at worst case, contact me again and I will get you an invite
since I remember both my sign in and my password

Good morning. I'm sending this to you individuals because the JFW
list seems to be down right now.
Yesterday I sent this to the Webvisum Discuss listserv and
subscribed to their mailing list, but I suspect they may be very slow
to respond. If I don't hear from them in a week or so, what do I do
with Web sites that require verification? I could try Solona but not
sure if that works with Firefox, or if it can handle captchas and
images as efficiently as Webvisum. Thanks for your feedback.

Subject: Webvisum plugin lost

Hi all. Recently I've been reading some posts regarding updating
to the latest version of Firefox, and that Webvisum hadn't released an
update for that version. For some time I've been able to use it on my
current version of Firefox 3.6. Someone suggested I download a
portable version of Firefox 5 to see how it worked and whether or not
Webvisum worked with it. Another post explained a work around for
accessing Webvisum with Firefox 5.0, by going to the install.rdf file
and changing the max number from 4 to 5. I did this and saved the
change, then downloaded the portable Firefox 5, but this created an
error message in Firefox 3 saying the file wasn't well-formed or
something. Webvisum not only didn't work on the portable Firefox, but
now it no longer works on Firefox version 3, and I also deleted the
install file for Webvisum and the plugin is no longer there.
Can you suggest a way to get a new plugin for Webvisum to download
again to Firefox 3? I'm already logged in, but can't find a link to
download the plugin. I erroneously sent a request for an invitation
but discovered that's not necessary if I know my username and password.
Thanks for your assistance.
