Office 365 includes all the desktop versions of the Office programs; I am

guessing the Home edition you mention does not include the desktop version of all seven Office programs as Office 365 does. The subscription means that your Office programs will always be updated with new features as they are added, whereas the standalone suites like the Home you mention are more static to the time they were released and thus don't get updates other than perhaps security fixes. With Office 365, you also get OneDrive space (1TB if you buy the Personal subscription, 5TB for the Home subscription). With 365, you can use the Office apps for iOS and Android. You also get a certain number of Skype minutes (one hour per user per month if memory serves) for calling landlines and mobile numbers. The Home subscription gives you the ability to install Office on up to five computers, five tablets, and five phones (the Personal subscription is one computer, one tablet, one phone). The standalone suites are a perpetual license, whereas 365 requires you to maintain a subscription for full functionality. Whether you go for a standalone suite or 365, you will be using the same desktop programs, so there is no difference with that in terms of accessibility. Of course, with Office 365, you also have access to Office Online. Regards, Maria

Re: how to get the iheartradio.com site to display genres and stations other than the top New York ones
Maria Kristic
I am using Windows 10 and JAWS 17. I also do have an iHeartRadio account with which I am logged in on the site. Just mentioning all of that because I'm not sure if it makes a difference to my results. Anyway, when I TAB to the Genre link (i.e., navigate to it by other means and then TAB/SHIFT+TAB to make sure it's in focus) and press ENTER, I am taken to the Genre page. If that doesn't work for you, type the address iheart.com/genre and that should take you to the Genre page.

I like the fact that it's free and I don't have to (yet) create a password or anything to listen. I would like to find stations and genres and such using a browse feature on the iheart.com page. Does such a feature exist using Jaws 14 and windows 7? I go to iheart.com and press enter on genres. But the actual genre list does not appear. Iheartradio.com seems to instead direct me to listen to top stations in New York City. Do any of you have any suggestions on how to get the site to work? I would like to contact them and let them know my issues but I'm not sure how to do this. The site worked a lot better some years ago. Look forward to hearing your thoughts, Ryan Coverdell

Re: Bookmark in pdf and ppt
Maria Kristic
You can use PlaceMarkers in PDFs as you can on Web pages. Check out the JAWS
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
Help topic on those. CTRL+SHIFT+K launches the PlaceMarker dialog. K and SHIFT+K jump between PlaceMarkers. When adding a PlaceMarker, be sure to clear the "Define for all pages on current domain" check box, as this is not a Web page and so that check box needs to be cleared for the PlaceMarker to actually get added. The default name of the PlaceMarker is the line on which it is placed, so that is like your highlight when you are going through the PlaceMarker list; you can edit the PlaceMarker Name field as you can any edit area in Windows. RE PowerPoint, in the View ribbon, in the Show group, TAB to "Notes Page" and press ENTER to check it. I mention the Show group because, if you're entirely TABBING through the View ribbon, you first come to the Presentation Views group in which there is also an option called "Notes Page", but that is not the one you want to check. Once you've TABBED in to the View ribbon and are in the Presentation Views group, use CTRL+LEFT and RIGHT ARROWS to quickly navigate between groups. Once "Notes Page" in the Show group of the View ribbon is checked, the Notes Page will be in the F6/SHIFT+F6 navigation cycle. Regards, Maria

Also I'd like to in a sense "highlight" lines or words. If multiple bookmarks can be placed in the document then I can mark those things that I find particularly important so that I can access just those phrases in the future. Also I have a question about Powerpoint. I am wondering why pressing F6 does not ever get me to the notes area in a ppt presentation. I am using office 365 powerpoint and i think i have jaws 16, although it may be even older than that, I'm not sure. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Anna E Givens

Try the following:
1. While in Firefox press, Alt + T, for tools &
press, O, for options, Tab 1 time to the list of options, & press, Insert /
Jaws key + Z, to turn the Virtual cursor off.
2. Arrow down to, Advanced & tab 1 time to, General. 3. Tab through these unchecking the various checkboxes. Personally I have all of them unchecked. HTH Take care. Mike Sent from my iBarstool. Go Dodgers!

Re: Jaws with windows10.
Tony
Still on Windows 7 Pro, Jaws 16 and have had this problem for a long time.
I only have 8gb RAM and I think sometimes Jaws gets swapped out to disk and has to wait to be reloaded. This is usually only a couple of seconds.
Other times is like you explained.
I also have times when I have to unload Jaws and restart it.
Finally there are times Jaws reloads it self 10 to 15 seconds silence in that case.

Re: How do you make the gmail account your default mail?
George, That's a mystery to me. I just tried adding another Google Account under the Win10 Mail App and the first screen you get after choosing the Google option is the "Connecting to a Service" screen that shows you an actual Google page where you enter your Gmail username (or full e-mail address) as part of setting up the app connection to Google. It doesn't reject the 'g' in the "@gmail.com" for me.
