Great, Doc Tom! I just studied what George sent, also

happen to any of us with Outlook.

Thanks for the correction, Carolyn.

I just tried Alt V followed by F and then N.

The folder pane is set to normal, which is the way it is
supposed to be set, I believe.

I also doublechecked, and both the reading pane and the to
do bar are set to off.

George:

I think what you suggest is what I need--i.e. I need the
list of folders to be on the left edge of the window, but
Alt F followed by the letter N does not do this for me.

Is there another way to accomplish this?

Once again, I'm using Jaws 17 with Outlook 2016 and windows
7 here.

When in a folder like in bos do the following

Alt v f n

This will put the folders on the left edge of the window and
then you can shift tab to them

Hello, all.

This afternoon, I tried accessing my list of folders in
Outlook 2016,
and am suddenly unable to access the folder list.

I can get someone sighted to access my Outlook folders via
the mouse, but
whenever I shift Tab from my message list view to my
folder list, I get a
current mailbox submenu item, and I can't move anywhere
with my arrow
keys.

It's almost like Jaws is stuck in my current list view,
with no way to get
back to my list of Outlook folders.

I have checked my layout settings under the settings
view, and all seems
as
it should be. My folder view is set to normal, the
reading pane is set to
off, and the to do bar is off.

I'm at a loss as to what to do here to get things back to
the way they
should be.

I'm using Jaws 17 and Windows 7 here.

Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

Re: Items not being displayed in sent items folder

Alan Robbins <alan1057@...>

Ann,

Is your student using pop3 or IMAP?
On my system, which is using IMAP, there is a sent items
folder as well as sent messages. What appears to happen, is
if I sent an email from the PC, it records that in sent
items. However, I also have my iPhone setup so I can take
care of email if not at my PC. If I sent an email from the
phone, it is recorded in sent messages. Took me a while to
figure this out when I first started using both to manage my
mail.
Not sure if this helps, but figured I'd pass it on

Re: i tunes

Hi,
When you are in the albums list in iTunes, press the down-arrow, and then press the up arrow quickly, and then you will hear what is there. After a certain update of JAWS, and also after a certain update of iTunes, it started acting like this with JAWS. That is the only work around that I have found that works consistently. So, if you down arrow so many times, then press the up arrow as soon as you quit up arrowing, you will hear what is there. So, you have to keep pressing down and up arrow to hear what is on each line of the albums column. I hope this makes since.
Take care.

Hi,

I use iTunes with the latest version of JAWS, and the only trouble I have is navigating the artist column. What you need to do, is to downarrow, and then up arrow really quick, and then JAWS will read the artist you are on. For example, down arrow three times, and then up arrow really quickly, and you will here the artist that is three arrows down. You also need to have iTunes set up properly. You need to have column browsing turned on by pressing CTRL+Shift+C. This will caus your iTunes display to show three columns. You should have an artist, an album, and a songs columns for a total of three columns that you can just press up and down arrow on.

Another Observation About System Restore

Tom Behler

Hello, all.

Ok, so, I exited Outlook, and got back in, and my Outlook folders no longer display correctly, even after having done the system restore, which apparently only corrected the problem temporarily.

I’m now really starting to pull out what little hair I have with this problem.

Can anyone help me figure out what is going on here?

Sorry to keep this going, but it is really getting frustrating.

May have to call FS in the morning.

System Restore Question

Tom Behler

Hello, everyone.

As I noted about an hour ago, doing a system restore solved my problem with the folder display list in Outlook 2016.

However, for some reason, the first time I tried it, the system restore back to two days ago did not stay.

When I got back into system restore, the “Undo system restore” option was checked, and I could not get down lower on the screen to check the option that lists restore points.  I could find the option with my Jaws cursor, but could not access or check it using the P C cursor.

I had to seek sighted assistance to get to this option.

Does anyone have a work-around for this issue?

Hopefully, my earlier system restore point will stay this time.

Thanks all for your patience.

Dr.  Tom Behler from Michigan

Subject: renaming a link on a webpage

Heya folks,

How do I rename a link on a webpage using Jaws17? As this site alot of the links are just graphical and are numbered 01, 02, 03 etc so I’d like to rename them with Jaws so I know what they do in future.

Cheers,

Jim

Outlook 2016 Folder List Display Problem Solved

Tom Behler

               Hello, everyone.

Well, I did a system restore to a restore point about two days ago, and now my Outlook folders display properly again via the shift-tab key.

So, thanks to Carolyn and everyone else who helped me work through this issue.

And, I now know how to do a system restore, so I’ve learned something new today!  (smile)

Re: Strange Outlook 2016 Issue

Tom Behler

Thanks for the correction, Carolyn.

I just tried Alt V followed by F and then N.

The folder pane is set to normal, which is the way it is supposed to be set,
I believe.

I also doublechecked, and both the reading pane and the to do bar are set to
off.

George:

I think what you suggest is what I need--i.e. I need the list of folders to
be on the left edge of the window, but Alt F followed by the letter N does
not do this for me.

Is there another way to accomplish this?

Once again, I'm using Jaws 17 with Outlook 2016 and windows
7 here.

When in a folder like in bos do the following

Alt v f n

This will put the folders on the left edge of the window and then you can
shift tab to them

I can get control Y to work, so that is a work-around for
now.

But, I'd really like to get to my Outlook folder list via
the shift
tab after I'm in a folder message list view if possible.

Everything was working just fine earlier this afternoon.

Carolyn:

I had thought of doing a system restore, but am not sure of the steps.

If you have them please send them along.

Once again, the really strange thing is that everything was working just
fine earlier today. I only noticed the problem late this afternoon.
