Hello Judy, Using Office 365 I have been updated to Office 2016, and since I purchased a new laptop, am also updated to Windows 10. The attachment keystroke insert a works fine in Outlook 2016. One drive is a little different since you may be working directly on the web site. I still have not figured out how to delete files from it. Cheers Kevin.

Hello, I am using Jaws 17, Outlook 2016,and Windows 10, and pressing shift tab a few times takes me there. Also as I write this, I notice that arrowing down below my response brings me to the “From” box. Cheers Kevin.

I have not, I wonder if it is something in your view settings. Also, make sure that there are no outlook notifications blocking the field in your notification tray. One last thing, maybe try maximizing the window as well. HTH

So far I haven't run into any settings in JAWS that I could not
change and save. I probably just jinxed myself there.

How about the other JAWS quick navigation keys, like x for checkbox, C for combo box etc. I would assume these work fine? Are you able to make changes within the JAWS program, without administrative rights?

Re: Office 365 & JAWS

Hi Judy! We switched to Office 365 at my company a little over a month ago. For our blind users, I was able to switch their web based email to the light version. This allows you to handle things like attachments much easier. You can also read email much easier too. If you have this functionality, I would utilize it for sure. In the standard set-up, the email part of Office 365 is not very user friendly for someone who is blind. Hope this helps!

Hi Michael,

JAWS is usually just as fast inside the shell as outside. Yes it sometimes lags but that happens outside the shell too. What my company did was place my JAWS inside the shell on a dedicated server. Log-in is pretty smooth. There is one point that I have to hit enter where JAWS does not speak. That is when the JAWS on my regular is shut out and the other one is loading. The Insert+F10 does not work on my Windows 7 in the shell like it does n on my regular desktop. It is doable but you are going to have to do some playing with it. Insert+F5, F6, F7 do work though. Re: VMware and JAWS

In speaking with FS about this yesterday, I was told that they do not recommend using JAWS with VMware, but they do say it should work OK. I’m interested to see how it’s going to perform in the environment that we will be using. There will be some obsticles that we’ll have to address, much like using JAWS with Citrix. Ward, how easy is it for you to connect to your remote desktop through VMware. How responsive is JAWS in that configuration?

Don’t know about VMWare but try insert-f10 to bring up the list of running tasks. I find that works when a window gets minimized and disappears.

Please me know if you find any good documentation on it. I am currently in training and am using it. The main problem with me is sometimes when JAWS loses focus and I alt+tab I the screen that I was on previously gets hidden and I cannot find it again. It is still there but I cannot navigate back to it. Ward

Re: saving a favorite
Tom Behler
I activate my alt key, and then use my right arrow key a number of times until I get my list of favorites.
In my case of Firefox, they are called favorites because I imported my original internet explorer favorites into Firefox using a program called Plain Old Favorites.
I think that program might still be on this old Windows 7 computer.

Re: Opening web based PDF documents

Chris and all,
Thank you everyone for all suggestions. To summarize, I am using a 64 bit PC running latest build of Win 10, and latest version of JAWS 17 (which by the way seems to be finally stable from all those pause/crashes it was doing). I have checked all suggested settings made and they are correct. I am at least able to save the PDF documents now from websites and then open as normal with Acrobat Reader DC. Wish they could open directly from the web but this work around is fine.
Thanks again, Al

I would highly recommend checking your settings to make sure that the check box is not checked to open in a web browser. But one thing I have found, once the PDF is open in the web browser, you can do the keystroke, control + shift + letter S. This will bring up a save dialog box. You can then just hit enter to save the file.
Hope this helps,
Chris
