Sounds like something changed on the weather site that FS was using for data. Nothing we can do about this, except let FS know so they can create yet another workaround. Any time that the underlying web page makes a significant change to its layout or API it can break ResearchIt. I think sports sites like MLB are still broken.

I don't know, because I don't know which component or periferal device is causing your computer to think one of the devices is nonexistent. The only way you can avoid this is to turn off stand-by, or to find out exactly which device isn't coming online quickly after awakening the computer.

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know why Jaws 15 goes to 40 minute mode after a Windows 7 laptop is awoken from standby? The message we get is that Jaws needs to be activated. This message pops up immediately after returning from Standby before the password can be typed in.

Thank you for your help.

Re: Drag and drop matching problem

Page, Aaron

Hi Keith,

Technically JAWS does have the ability to work with drag-and-drop, which you can find discussed here:

https://www.mail-archive.com/jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com/msg36015.html

Personally I have never been able to get this to work to perform drag-and-drop activities in online courses or on web sites where drag-and-drop is used. For this reason I tend to write off anything that can *only* be completed using drag-and-drop as inaccessible.

The other commenters on the thread seem to agree that this feature doesn't work very well, but you can at least give it a try. Since it requires the use of the JAWS Cursor you should use Internet Explorer. Good luck!

Hi,

I'm doing some workplace training.

Most of the questions are radio buttons and links.

I've run into a Match the right column with the left column by drag and drop.

I'm stumped. Anyone have any ideas? I can get JAWS to announce the items in each column, but haven't figured out a way to select one and place on another.

I suspect this is not attainable, but before I throw in the towel, I thought I'd check here.

Thanks in advance, Keith

Re: Drag and drop matching problem

Mike B <mb69mach1@...>

Hi Keith,

Below are the drag & drop keystrokes & steps, but speaking from personal experience they're not very reliable.

Use the key strokes, (CTRL+INSERT+NUM PAD SLASH) for Drag and Drop .
This is used to drag items from one location and drop them in another.
Position the JAWS Cursor on the item you wish to move and press
CTRL+INSERT+NUM
PAD SLASH. You can leave the JAWS Cursor active, or you can switch to the PC
Cursor. JAWS will keep speaking as you navigate. Once you have positioned
the JAWS or PC Cursor in the location to which you would like to move the
item, press CTRL+INSERT+NUM PAD SLASH again, and the item will be moved to
the position of the active cursor.
Take care.
