Re: Usenet.
I hadn't realized that so many ISPs have stopped access to Usenet news servers. That being said, and not knowing how accessible it is, groups.google.com still gives you access to Usenet and their search capability gets you messages from decades ago if you're looking for them. It also appears that the alt.binaries groups are still carried by them, but you have to do a search to find them, they're not listed on the main "groups" categories page. Brian

Re: Usenet.
Nicole Massey <nyyki@...>
There are several ways to access Usenet, some of which are blind accessible. What you need is a news catcher program and a feed. Outlook Express will handle newsgroups from UseNet with no difficulty if you have it installed, and there are other news catchers out there as well.
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
As for a feed, it depends on what you're looking for. If you're looking for the discussion lists then just about any source will have them for free. Eternal September is a popular option, though they have a Capcha and you'll need to get around that. However there are a lot of other feeds you can find for free too. If you're looking for the alt.binaries newsgroups, where files are exchanged, then you're probably going to have to go to a paid feed like Giganews or Dejanews. These are the places where files are shared, and some are not being shared legally, so caveat emptor and all that. Someone may be trying to change the name for Usenet, but I doubt it'll stick. This is a portion of the internet decades older than the world wide web. Note also that in most newsgroups (the areas devoted to specific topics) traffic is low, but also unmoderated. (moderated newsgroups do exist, but they're less common and you'll get clear indications in the group name that it's a moderated list) So the signal to noise ration can get to be a bit heavy to the noise side. On the other hand, most spam generators have given up on Usenet, so there's nowhere near as much of that as there used to be back when Usenet access was included with your ISP's services.

I’m a bit confused as to why I must initially go through the first step, and later hide the update when it comes back again, but I’ll cross that second bridge when I get there.

Hello Everyone.
Recently, people have been asking me how they can disable windows 10 icons and upgrade files from being downloaded to their systems and Microsoft nagging them to upgrade. it should be an option, not under handed tactics by microsoft to download files to your system. certain users have also reported that the get windows10 icon has been affecting productivity with certain apps. here's a quick way to permanently disable the upgrade until you wish to reenable it and take advantage of microsoft's offer. first, download the following program and click save, do not click run. you will need to save the file in case you need to upgrade at a later stage. http://ultimateoutsider.com/downloads/GWX_control_panel.exe After you've saved the file, click on it to launch it. the license agreement will be displayed. click on i accept and continue. You will see various buttons on the interface. If you see a disable windows10 upgrade option, click on it to disable the various programs and icons that are running as part of the windows10 upgrade. when you run the tool in future, it will give you the option to enable the upgrade as opposed to disabling it. the program does offer other options to clear the windows update cache, but you may not need them and they should only be used as a last resort to remove windows files. If you do decide to clear the windows update cache and downloaded windows10 files, your update history will be reset and the windows update screen will show that you have never previously installed any updates. updates you have hidden will also have to be rehidden. for more information and a full description of what the program does and how it works, visit the author's page at: http://blog.ultimateoutsider.com/2015/08/using-gwx-stopper-to-permanently-remove.html all the best, Mo. ----- Original Message -----

How accessible is Airbnb.com, that lodging web site?
Tim Ford
HI All,
Does anyone have experience at using JAWS with the airbnb.com web
site? I played around with it just a bit, then decided I would be better
off checking first so I don’t bang my virtual head against a wall of
inaccessibility! They have a regular web site and a version marked as for
mobile, and the mobile site has about 40% fewer links. Any feedback would
be much appreciated.

How To Get Rid Of Get Windows 10 Message
Tom Behler
Hello, everyone.
Yesterday, I ran malware bytes on my home Windows 7 PC, and ever since, I receive the “get windows 10” message every few minutes or so. I can exit out of the message using alt F4, but the message re-appears again soon thereafter.
How can I get rid of this message?
Personally, I find it not only annoying, but intrusive!
I do plan to upgrade to Windows 10 at some point, and don’t need to be constantly reminded of its availability!
Sorry for the little rant there, but this is really aggravating!

Adrian,

You've done a pretty thorough job listing the various methods for handling attachments with jaws. My go to method for accessing attachments sent to me is the shift + tab method as you describe. However as many of us know, this method does not always produce results. When I find nothing after back tabbing, I use the open all attachments option inn the file tab. It entails some extra steps since you then have to go to wherever the attachments have been saved to view them, but it works for me 99% of the time. As for sending multiple attachments, I find the copy and paste most reliable. Just be sure your cursor is in the correct part of the message before you attempt to paste your second, third etc. attachments. I hope this helpful. Kimber Sent from Kimber's iPhone
