My JAWS 12 works with FireFox 6, no significant problems yet and I've had it
a few weeks.

In answer to your first question, yes. In answer to your second, you may
need at least JAWS 12. They made some pretty significant changes to FF and
I'm not sure if anything earlier will work. Heck, I'm not even sure 12 will
work with Firefox 6, but I haven't heard very many complaints along those
lines.

Dear Friends,

I have just installed Firefox 6 and I am using JAWS 11. I have 2 questions:

Can I import internet explorers favourites? and How do I use JAWS
keystrokes? presently, I am getting message "This feature is available
within a virtual document within internet" when I press Ins + f7 to use link
list on a website. Please help.

I wonder if you have narrator? it would be hard not to as it is part
of windows try turning it on and off on your own computer. your friend must
have it, indeed when I first had a computer I would turn it on by accident,
and turning it off was the problem .It sounds like a funny old man
nattering in the background

I don't know the technical term for this, but on a particular Web page's
combo boxes, when I try to arrow up and down a list of available choices,
the page accepts each arrow press as my selection and refreshes itself. In
other words, for each arrow press I end up on a new page, must refind the
same combo box, arrow down again, etc. Very tedious.

Does Jaws 12 have a work around for this kind of situation?

is the page in question.

Am I just working with the combobox wrongly? I find it and then hit enter to
turn on forms mode, then use my mid-section arrow keys to try and move
through the available choices.

thanks for any help,
Chris

End Note? What is that? I have never heard of it. I would be interested in
any information someone has about this program and its usability with JAWS.

I wonder if Bryan carver director of technical support at the St. Petersburg address may help,he is Blind now but was once sighted. It is just a thought. He replied to me when other Fs techies did not or were not right i.e. Dan Clark and Eric damery, Bryan carver may understand. What do you have to lose? Dorothy

Thanks. I will check into that, as it would be a big help. I work tirelessly
to get it right and usually get marked off a couple of points simply because
my reference list is "not visually right", which is the exact comment my
last professor wrote on my paper. Ugh!

Thanks,

Alicia

Many thanks it is a dell inspire windows 7 64 bit and it did have a Hd
failure after 10 months but the engineer a local man went over it all not
long ago, it has a Net gear router, and he replaced 1 wire the Phone wire,
regarding mother board, I think it is Ok, It is just one of those odd
things that happens I think. The xp laptop goes via a wireless connection
and both have jaws 12 on them and the person I emailed said it was not due
to dell being wary of new battery "just turn it off and reload" and it has
been ok since, computers just get things wrong at times. Regarding the fact
that jaws reads things wrongly, if set to white texton black, that is a
laptop problem the problem of white font on black background is a real
one,but on windows 7, is less of an issue. On laptop I used lunar for a
while to use in inverse mode, but I have removed it now, as the xp laptop is
old and doesnot have a lotof resources I just put up with the screen. That
problem was never solved by fs by the way.Magic was no good,Lunar a dolphin
product was. I see I have referred to 2 issues in one reply, sorry if it is
confusing! Dorothy .

Do you use a USB hub? If so it could be going bad. If not maybe the USB
controller on your mother board is causing the problem, or there is a
problem with the drivers. May have to remove the USB ports from device
manager and restart the pc so they re-install.

did say "click on something and I was not sure if to enter or use a left or
right mouse. In any case, I know no strange device wwas on the pc,and
turning it off seemed to work, today a visitor came and i put on dell in
morning this time jaws said nothing adverse but the sighted friend could
see it was printed on the screen, not the device but the print referring to
esolution it seems to want a very high resolution on windows
I mean the screen resolution regards dorothy

I wonder if this happens to anyone else. I have noticed if I put on my dell
windows 7 desktop using jaws 12, it loads up normally however I wait on
purpose not going to desktop,I have noticed in the morning if I do this and
wait Jaws will soon tell me what it is unhappy about.. Other day I am told
I am using an unknown device that it does not recognise a usb device. I
have not touched the delland no new device is on no wires are loose. I have
a laptop that I have treated to a new battery,I wonder if they are partof a
work group if it could have detected it, it is the right battery. I email a
friend who says"no it cannot be that, turn off the desktop and wait and
reload. I do this and all seems ok jaws does not mention any such thing
now. However now it says the screen resolution is not set at the very high
resolution it likes I have not altered it I turn off dell again and reload
it and this time no complaints, However I am baffled,Jaws I am sure cannot
be to blame it is being given information that is untrue There was no
unknown device at all if the resolution had altered it put itself right
However I cannot keep turning the computer on and off all day! any ideas?
thanks. Dorothy.
