Re: installing Chrome

Hi Ann,

Thank you very much, pressing, Insert / Jaws key + Z, is the trick but, this
keystroke toggles the virtual cursor mode On / off. Press enter on the
Settings option then press, Insert + Z, to turn the virtual cursor off & you
can tab through the Settings options. Or you can press the Alt key to open
the list, arrow up to Settings, press, Insert + Z, to turn the virtual
cursor off, then press enter on Settings & you can tab through the options.
Take care.
Mike

get to a dialog today and that was the trick. Also someone else
suggested shift-enter instead of just enter.

good luck!

Subject: Outlook 2016 and JAWS Issue Resolved.

Hi all

I've now resolved my issue with JAWS not reading my messages in outlook
2016. It turned out that I needed to go into the JAWS Qick Settings dialog
in Outlook itself and turn off the use the virtual cursor option for
read-only messages. Once that option was disabled, the emails read fine.

I hope this helps anyone else who may come upon this issue.

Outlook 2013, different behavior in different computers

Pablo Morales

Good morning all,

I am now using office 2013 pro. I have this software installed in 4
different computers. Two at home, and 2 in my work., plus a little tablet.
Well, for some reason, my outlook 2013 pro, is working in some areas
different than in the other computers. For example, when we press control+E,
if we want to search for emails that contains a string, then we are able to
type the string, and outlook should put in a list all emails that contains
that string. Well, In this part I get a little bit lost with outlook 2013,
because before we just pressed F6, and the pc cursor moved to the list of
results. Now it doesn't work. No at least in any computer where I tried
outlook 2013 or outlook 2016.

Well, here is where I see that outlook works different in each computer. If
I want to get to the list of results, I need to do different things, but
those things doesn't work in every computer. Sometimes I also notice that if
something was working well yesterday, today the steps that I took yesterday
to get to the list of results, doesn't work anymore.

I notice some kind of instability or inconsistence in the way how outlook
works, I am talking about outlook 2013 and outlook 2016. Some times in my
outlook appears things that yesterday weren't there, and tomorrow will
disappear again. I can't trust in my outlook, because every day something
change, or something appear, or just disappear. It is not reliable .What do
I am doing wrong, what is the correct configuration of outlook to make it
work more stable or more in a standard way?

Thanks guys,

Pablo

replying to sender on this list

Ann Byrne

If wishing to reply to a sender instead of the whole list, use 'reply to all'. this will place the list address in the 'to' field and the sender's in the 'cc' field. Overlay the list address in the 'to' field with the sender's address, clear the 'cc' field, and you're in business.

That window was, I believe, a Google page where you can adjust settings. You
can go back to that page by going into the Chrome menu with the alt key,

Re: Crone

Adrian Spratt

Dennis,

On your first question, I experience no such delays either with IE or Chrome. If I did, it would drive me nuts. Maybe try chrome and see if you notice a difference.

As for stopping videos, it depends on the website and the video format it uses. For example, on YouTube, you can usually pause by pressing the JAWS pass-through key combo JAWS key+3 on the number row followed by k. The YouTube discussion gets both more complicated and simpler as you delve into it, but this control does still work-I just confirmed.

Audible.com has an easier way of stopping or pausing, simply by pressing enter on the audio sample link. And so on.

Re: cChrome installed - Now, is there a way to import Favorites from IE?

David Moore

Hi Keith,
I have answers for you. There is no benefit to signing into Chrome unless you want to sync all of your devices. There is no reason to sign in to use it as a browser. To import your book marks, the answer is yes. Here is what you do. Press the alt key and you will be in the vertical Chrome menu. Arrow down to book marks and press the right arrow. Now, arrow down to where it says import book marks and settings... Press enter on that, and you will be able to import your favorites and settings from IE at least. There should be a way to import bookmarks from Firefox as well. Thanks a lot for listening to my tutorial, and let me know if you have anymore questions. Have a great one.

If your default browser is Chrome and you link from an email, Chrome will be

Hi, Andre.

Someone may post a suggestion specific to Chrome, but I'm finding I need to
use Chrome for many websites and IE11 for others. Here's an idea that might
work for you, assuming your newsletters come to you in the form of email.
Keep in mind that my system is Win7, 64-bit, Office 2010, JAWS 16/17.

With Outlook 2010, you can place emails into your IE browser by opening the
message, pressing alt-h, then a, then v. From here, any links you click on
will take you to the webpage via the IE browser. It doesn't matter what your
default browser may be.

I've made Chrome my default browser, but several services I use work better
with IE11, and so linking this way from email messages saves me having to
switch back and forth.

In case it needs to be said, you can have Chrome and IE, as well as Firefox,
all open at the same time.

I haven't yet made Google Chrome my default browser, but after my recent
experience with Amazon, I am thinking about it.

As an Amazon Prime member, I can get a free Kindle book each month from a
list of "Kindle First" books they send me. I tried it for the first time
today and couldn't get it done with Internet Explorer 11 and the latest
build of JAWS version 16. The page I needed to get the free book just
wouldn't come up in the browser when I activated the link for my chosen
book. The poor Amazon representative tried to help me, but we finally had
to give it up with IE11. I told her that I would try Chrome to see if it
would work better. Wish I had done that first! It worked perfectly, and I
am currently listening to the book with the Kindle app on my iPad.
