Re: one-handed keyboard?
Lee Maschmeyer
Hi Ann,
I don't use a one-handed keyboard but I do use the two-handed Dvorak keyboard layout in Control Panel. There are Dvorak layouts for one-handed use in control panel though, one for each hand. Unfortunately Jaws does not automatically switch Jaws-specific keys (like Ins+T for the title or Ins+Q for the loaded keyboard set) to the keyboard layout in use but there's a file called keycodes.ini in the Jaws shared scripts directory. Copy that to your personal scripts folder and modify the scan codes to correspond with the new locations. It's a bit tedious but requires only a normal text editor so it's no big deal. Opposite of my problem. JAWS 17 stopped me from getting into settings. Now I can't do it with either version of JAWS.

No cigar. I went through the process again just now. The only detail I can add is that JAWS verbalizes "no links" shortly after I press enter. I do wait, and I confirm that the virtual cursor is active. Also, I earlier had the same idea of trying JAWS 16, but I got the same results.

Re: Copying tables from websites to excel
Ann Marie Medlar <amedlar1@...>
I don't know key strokes for Excel 2013. But in old excel alt+d I believe
there is a delimited function. If between column data info is a space then you can use delimiting function to separate into separate columns. From an old email message.Alt+d arrow down to text to columns and enter. Wizzard appears, I checkd delimited, next, checked space as delimiter, next After looking at report only 1 line changed. So I typed control+g and enter type a6:a499 to select cells and enter repeated above process and all data from a6:A499 are now in separate columns. -----Original Message----- From: Jfw [mailto:jfw-bounces@lists.the-jdh.com] On Behalf Of Scott Delventhal via Jfw Sent: Thursday, November 19, 2015 1:41 PM To: jfw@lists.the-jdh.com Cc: Scott Delventhal <spdbuck@twc.com> Subject: Copying tables from websites to excel Is there a way to copy an entire table from a webbsite to an excel spreadsheet maintaining the row and column layout?I am aware of how to select the entire table by pressing F8 but when ppasting the result is one continuous column. I'm copying below the instructions I received from FS's Grant Downey, one of their reliable tech support people. I may have tidied them up a little, but I've used them more than once and they work. The line you're looking for is included. To run a JAWS 16 repair, First download JAWS 16 to your computer. Go to: http://www2.freedomscientific.com/downloads/JAWS/JAWS-whats-new.asp Look for and download: * JAWS 16.0.1925 64-bit English - January 2015 (133 MB) Choose the 64 bit version. Save this to your computer. Do not run from current location. After the file is saved: To run a JAWS 16 repair. 1. Copy the appropriate version to your C: drive To run a JAWS 16 repair, go to the run dialog and type: C:\J16.0.1925ENU-64bit.exe /type repair And press enter. The repair will run. After the repair has completed, reboot your computer.

Re: Adobe Acrobat Reader DC

Hmm, against my better judgment I installed it at work, and it seems to take forever to process really large books. (And I have a heck of a computer at work by the way.) Something's definitely up, because initially all it will say is "blank blank blank." It never tells me it's processing anything, and about the only way I've found to make it read the document at all is to press Control A to select all. Then it kind of wakes up from its coma, figures out who it is, and then I can navigate OK. Otherwise, I didn't really find much difference for what I do.
