Thanks. This is good to know. I have both windows 7 and 8.1 on different
systems. Did you have any issues upgrading?

Most likely not, though some people have had problems with JAWS, though
mostly upgrading from Windows 7.

Okay...so I did a system restore after dealing with tech and installing the
silverlite and having no good effect. The system restore took me back to
before I did the uninstall and reinstall of IE10/11. Always a good thing to
keep in your back pocket for any inexplicable problems that pop up.

As far as the search box, I noted this change too and you have to click on a
link first to browse so look for a link that will take you to the search

box. -----Original Message-----

Hello,

I think that it is a graphics issue. I have used both IE11 and
Firefoxand the changes made last year, have been worse for screen reader
users.

I'm using the Canadian NetFlix site. Last year they updated the web site
and I lost access to the search field. It used to be an edit field that
JAWS could find, and now it is an icon that JAWS cannot find.

Do the American users of NetFlix have the same problem searching for a
title? Is there a way around.

I'm not seeing the unlabeled buttons in Firefox 41.0.1, but I installed some sort of add-on that returned Firefox to a classic look, whatever that means. I haven't noticed any problems at work though. I'll look tomorrow. No add-ons there. Frankly, I don't usually know when Firefox has upgraded until I hit Control insert V to find out the version number.

Using Jaws with Visual Studio 2013 and Visual Micro for Arduino

John Pocs <jpocs@...>

Hi all,

I'm using Jaws 16 with Visual Studio 2013 and Visual Micro Arduino plug in
extension.

Some of the combo boxes do not open the lists when pressing ALT+Down arrow.

This might be application related or perhaps script related.

By the way, Visual Studio 2013 uses the script file for the 2010 version and
there is no newer one in Jaws 16.

Is there anyone using this development environment and perhaps can provide
some feedback?

Thanks,

John

No, this was several months back. Given my earlier experience, the download hassle, and the negative reports that came over the list, I think that's a no-go. I can't even remember the name of the list member touting this other program, but he made it sound really good. I kept the note around for a while, but must have eventually discarded it. I guess I've taken up enough time and space for one day.

, Dave. I thought I had an old copy of that, but must have deleted it. It
should be fairly easy to find with a search. I'm still trying to get rid of
the remnants of AVG, that system restore fixed JAWS, but really did a number
on me. I found some more physical remains last night, and deleted them, but
I don't touch the registry by hand. Norton once had a good cleaner, but the
last time I used it it went postal! I haven't trusted the category since.

Okay, I could always do a Web search, I just wondered if it was worth the
effort. As I just wrote, the proper name is Registry Fix. Frankly, a
properly designed product should allow you to specify a particular program
for which to search. I know what I want rid of. Incidentally, you're on
that other list; do you remember the proper name of the program about which
I was asking several days ago, the one that, I think, began with a W?

Ted,

If it's old, I'd advise against, unless it has a way to be updated. The
database used for detection is usually updated to keep up, and being behind
might clean out things that should not be.

Anyone heard of Register Fix? I found an old copy on my hard drive, but
haven't installed it.

Thanks a bunch, but, for my own protection, the cyber cops are blocking the
download! What about that site that specializes in JAWS-friendly programs
(I should have bookmarked that thing)? Anybody know what I'm talking about?

Ted,

CCleaner is easy to use, and accessible.

Some time ago we were discussing what was supposed to be a dandy, safe
registry cleaner. I thought I kept the thread (you should see my mailbox),
but can't find it now. I think it began with the letter W.
