Hold on, I'm confused?

So, do not open the email and just CTRL c, and CTRL V in the contacts folder
after creating a new contact form that is?
Before I opened up ann's email I did CTRL C and this is what I got...

This depends on which Lenovo model you are using. You can
sometimes swap the insert key and the applications key. Since
insert is the typical insert key, that may not be entirely
desirable; however, with the laptop keyboard, the capslock key
becomes the JAWS key. Depending upon personal preference, this
may be a good way to get both a JAWS key, which you absolutely
need, and an applications key, which is pretty handy.
The insert key, when it is not the JAWS key, is pretty useless.
Though, I would love to replace the print screen key with
something useful. I don't think I've ever found a use for the
print screen key.

Right click though is WHEREVER THE mouse happens to be. The
application menu is triggered where the keyboard is focused.

You could of course route the jaws to PC cursor before doing the
right click but that is even more cumbersome than shift+f10.

Re: How to Get an "Applications Key" on a Lenovo Laptop?

Well, the keystroke to change the key assignment is not control
plus a. It is control plus h.
The above is true in theory; however, as I try to use it, whether
by keypress or from the menu, I find it is "unavailable."

Hi,

Here is a very easy way to remap the print screen key on Lenovo
with JFW.

1. Press insert+8 on the number row from anywhere. JFW keyboard
manager will open.
2. Press ctrl+alt+d to load the default .jkm file. You should hear
that the default file is loaded.
3. Be sure that you are on the default section by pressing insert+
up arrow.
4. tab once to enter the list of script key assignments.
5. Find "SendApplicationKey" by pressing the first few letters.
6. Press alt+h to open the dialog for changing the key assignment.
7. press the print screen key to assign it.
8. Press tab to go to ok and enter to confirm it.
9. Press ctrl+s to save and alt+f4 to close.

Right click though is WHEREVER THE mouse happens to be. The
application menu is triggered where the keyboard is focused.

You could of course route the jaws to PC cursor before doing the
right
click but that is even more cumbersome than shift+f10.

Re: How to Get an "Applications Key" on a Lenovo Laptop?

Ed Marquette <marquette.ed@...>

I see I am not responding to the latest message here. So, someone
may have pointed this out (and I just missed it), but the below
steps did not seem to work.
First, I had to plug in a regular U S B full keyboard. Otherwise
JawsKey plus 8 on the home row simulates a left mouse click.
Perhaps I didn't have to do the keyboard, but I had one handy. I
think JawsKey plus 8 just brings up Keyboard manager.
Second, Alt plus H, on my system, brought up help topics, not a
key assignment menu.
Third, I think the command is control plus a, not Alt plus H, but
I couldn't get that to work either.
I'm going to try to check out keyboard manager in JAWS Help. I've
not messed with that very much.
Happy computing.

Hi Jay, if your settings are set so that just does when the computer starts it's not going to happen. You need to go into the start was there of jazz which is in the options and basics and then the start up wizard. There should be a checkbox that says start when the computer starts or when you log onto windows. If you have a multiple users. There is a setting that says start when this user logs onto the computer you can make the other users not have this option. Hope this helps, Laura

I do SHIFT + TAB back to the From field. Once I get there, I hit the
application menu and select the "add sender to outlook contacts" option.
It
works, but it'd be nice if there was a better way.

I imagine this would make a nice beginning JAWS script project. If I
put this together, I'll post about it.

Ann Byrne

If you're in a message and hit esc, doesn't that put you back into the mailbox list????

At 08:23 PM 8/21/2015, you wrote:
OK, Keith. If I hit escape, I'm outside your message. So, right

to do it the old way to Alt 1 to the To field, copy it, start a new e-mail
just to have a place to get out the < and > and list stuff, just get yours.
But if you get an individual one, or you can even try with mine to Escape,
then hit Control C, then Control 3, then Control V. Then you'll have the
e-mail address. I did it with yours, and then deleted it; somehow or other I
deleted it twice, but it's out. Anyway, that is one way that it can be done
in Outlook 2013.

The good thing about the older harder way, I think, is a little more control
of the data.

Ann, I did as I was instructed yesterday - went outside your message, hit
Control C for copy, then Control 3 for Contacts, then Control V for paste.
Your address is in my contacts, which I will delete, but my instructor told
me to practice what he taught, so I did that one. It definitely works in
Outlook 13 and is so easy! I hope it will work for you.

Re: How to Get an "Applications Key" on a Lenovo Laptop?

The only use of the print screen key I can think of is capturing screen
shots of web pages.

My Lenovo L440 laptop has no "Applications Key" as is found on a
standard keyboard. The Applications Key functions like a right
mouse
click. So, how does someone do this without an Applications
Key?
Or, perhaps better, how can someone make a key on the Lenovo act
like
the Applications Key?

Thanks,

Subject: Junk Ware Removal Tool
I posted this the other day but saw no response so I'm posing the question again in case someone might have missed it.
I'm wanting to know if there is any JunkWare removal tool that is accessible to remove junk ware from a brand new laptop computer?
This is a Win 10 computer and not all the applications or links are able to be removed from the Programs and Features in the Control Pannel.
Any suggestions especially for something that is free. Thanks.

Re: How to Get an "Applications Key" on a Lenovo Laptop?

Hi,

Here is a very easy way to remap the print screen key on Lenovo with JFW.

1. Press insert+8 on the number row from anywhere. JFW keyboard
manager will open.
2. Press ctrl+alt+d to load the default .jkm file. You should hear
that the default file is loaded.
3. Be sure that you are on the default section by pressing insert+ up arrow.
4. tab once to enter the list of script key assignments.
