Skype is sluggy and you cannot read what someone wrote you using the JAWS Cursor. JAWS 15 is faster using my Windows 7 machine. Other than that it seems to be working good.

Just installed it and no problems here. But I don't seem to have any
problems with any of the new updates. The only thing I don't really
like is that when the download starts, JAWS eloquence stops and the
Windows voice kicks in. It never was like this before. Anyone have an
idea as to why this happens?

I have not thank god.

Also, so it works with windows 10?

I'm going to take things slow this time and not jump the gun, and will only
upgrade if/when I have too.

And yes, I am aware the upgrade is free for the first year, so I guess I
have to upgrae after a year lol.

I recently bought a bose blue tooth speaker that I could not make work.

Since then I removed the program and now cannot use my shedset and

I hear a sound when I plug in the usb connection and the first time I

installed sucessfully.

However neither my headset nor microphone will work.

I use jfw 14and have windows media along with winamp.

Adrian, yes, that's my problem. I've got 1 computer with classic desktop and the other with something else, whatever JAWS changes it to when JAWS is first installed, if it does get changed.

If I understand you correctly, you're not asking how to find a file, but instead, how to find its path. Yes? If you have Win7 set up in so-called "classic" mode (I don't), the following instructions should work. Meanwhile, I'll try to remember how I figured this out when not set up in classic mode.

go to control panel, open folder options, control tab to view, tab twice to list view then arrow down and check both add path to title bar and address bar. when this is done click apply then ok. Now when you highlight the folder you can tab to the address bar and copy the path.

hi fellow listers, I'm trying to find out the location (path) of a file.
I'm using the search feature in W7, but nothing is found. can someone

I press the Windows key.
type the filename, a dot and extension. sometimes I'll use the
star/asterisk as a wildcard in place of an extension or letters in a
filename.
at this point, do I press the enter key? I don't think so, but maybe I
do? or might there be a setting that needs to be changed? I'm not sure.

I have mixed feelings about Avast. I've had good luck with it catching problem files, but with JAWS it's not the most accessible tool I know. I actually had better luck with AVG on the accessibility front, but I hated being constantly nagged to upgrade or switch versions. Avast is querky at best when it comes to accessibility, but it has served me well, and what I like about it is that you can just sort of leave it alone. At least, that's been the case for me.

Also, so it works with windows 10?

I'm going to take things slow this time and not jump the gun, and will only
upgrade if/when I have too.

And yes, I am aware the upgrade is free for the first year, so I guess I
have to upgrae after a year lol.

Re: headset and microphone

Brad Martin <brad@...>

David, this is a tricky game to play sometimes. You said your headset microphone is USB connected. USB headsets (and mics) install as additional sound devices on your computer. As a result, you have to go into the sound control panel and select them as your preferred playback and recording devices. When I worked in radio, I loved the sound of my USB headset mic, but it was a pain to configure until I figured out the problem. Your biggest issue will be selecting these devices as your preferred devices, if plugging in the headset makes it impossible for you to hear JAWS until you've made that selection. Depending on how your experience goes, you may need sighted help to do this.

As a general rule, I like standard 8th inch headset microphones better. This one was my favorite <http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002HEQDHG/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B002HEQDHG&linkCode=as2&tag=form0d-20&linkId=F2GGW3FLXS4UKUYA>because it came with an adapter to fit my phone, a double adapter for my desktop, and the standard plug fit my laptop. Best of all, since this type of headset doesn't require a separate driver, there's no problem with JAWS not being heard.

But hopefully you can select your USB headset as the preferred playback device, and its microphone as your preferred recording device, and then it should resolve.

Utilites menu and then sound cards. then shit enter on the headset
entry.

At least, that's been the case for me.

new unity game engine screen reader feedback

Hi.

Will paste a link about the unity game engine and a screen reader feedback
survey.

Please post.

The more feedback, the more pressure, that they will build screen reader
support.

Not accessible.

A lady named Danniell , who was sighted and working in the game industry,
lost her sight.

And still doing game coding now.
