The start up wizard for checking the state of JAWS at start up is under the
help menu when you press insert j.
Sometimes you need to reset the hotkey control plus alt plus j to restart
JAWS after a shut down.
Another way I use to start up JAWS is to press the windows key plus m
several times to make sure I get to the desktop. Then I just press the
letter j for jaws and Jaws starts up in a bit.

Re: Jaws 15 Problem in window7

Carolyn Arnold <4carolyna@...>

For one thing, with many computers, the JAWS command to come on is Control Alt J. If you'll -
1 hit Insert J;
2. the first thing will be Options;
3. Arrow down to the next, Basics;
4. Enter on Basics;
5. Tab, and I think the second one will give you the choice to check "start with JAWS".
66. check that.

GIFT (God is forever true),

Carolyn

As far as I know, there is no way to set a webmail service as the default
e-mail account. However, you can always configure your Gmail account in an
e-mail client, such as Outlook, Thunderbird, or Windows Live Mail, and then,
from within your chosen e-mail client, set it as the default account.

Anyone here work with wordpress.com? If so I have some questions which might
turn into several, so I can provide my phone number privately if it needs to
go that far.

Probono support would be awesome though lol.

Someone will ask however, s"so, what is your question?"

You can create and possibly turn your blog site from the blog site over to
an actual site right? Says google. However, how do you get rid of the
@wordpress.com at the end of your URL.

Example, instead of kimsansong@wordpress.com
<mailto:kimsansong@wordpress.com> , how can it simply be kimsansong.com.

Thank you!

Re: JAWS stays silent when typing passwords in Internet Explorer

Sameer

Possibly that is what has happened. But I am unable to find that setting again to reverse it.

Perhaps there's a JAWS setting that controls speech output in password fields which you changed inadvertently?

I also used to hear the stars until a week ago. But something seems to have
been changed during the week. Even a system restore has not sorted out the
problem.

Dear List friends,

I have been facing a strange problem during the past couple of days & don’t
know if it is JAWS-related.

Previously, JAWS used to say “star, star” when I typed passwords in Internet
Explorer. But now JAWS stays silent. I know that the password is getting
typed because the star symbols appear on the screen & pressing Enter after
typing the password performs as expected.

I am using JAWS 16 on a computer running Windows 7 OS.

Kindly inform me how I can get JAWS to speak again when typing passwords.

Thanking you all in advance for any & all assistance.

Regards
Mr. Sameer Latey,
Mumbai, India

Setting up Outlook

Jean Menzies <jemenzies@...>

I’m starting a new job tomorrow, and will be using Outlook. Likely 2013. As I don’t use Outlook at home, I’m asking for any advice on what to turn on or off in Outlook to make Jaws work best.Setting views, etc.

Thanks.

Jean
