Re: Setting up Outlook

Michal Nowicki <mnowicki4@...>

JAWS contains a help topic for Outlook, which can be accessed by holding the JAWS key and pressing F1 twice quickly from within Outlook. JAWS help for Outlook contains a section on getting started with the program. One change I would recommend is turning off the reading pane for all mail folders, or at least for your inbox. While some users find this feature useful (because it allows them to preview messages without opening them), I don't like it because it marks my messages as "read" before I have a chance to read them, and the only way I've been able to resolve this issue is by setting the reading pane to "off".

Anyone here work with wordpress.com? If so I have some questions which might
turn into several, so I can provide my phone number privately if it needs to
go that far.

Probono support would be awesome though lol.

Someone will ask however, s"so, what is your question?"

You can create and possibly turn your blog site from the blog site over to
an actual site right? Says google. However, how do you get rid of the
@wordpress.com at the end of your URL.

Example, instead of kimsansong@wordpress.com
<mailto:kimsansong@wordpress.com> , how can it simply be kimsansong.com.

Thank you!

Hi list friends,

Not sure if this is a JAWS question, but I keep getting this thing called
"Support Assist" coming up on my computer. I tried to open it up, but could
not get it to open. I tried using the JAWS cursor and it would not read
anything, so apparently, JAWS doesn't see this. I would like to just get rid
of this thing.

I have a dell laptop that has the full keyboard windows 8.1 and Jaws 16,
latest update.

Any ideas on this would greatly be appreciated.

Control-f works on my copy of WLM.

Alternatively,
1. press alt to get to the ribbon
2. right arrow to actions
3. down arrow to forward and press enter.

Good luck.

Mario,
I want to apologize. I think you were perfectly clear, but I think most
of us have misunderstood your question. Please allow me to try again.

Clarification: There are two completely different things that one could
call "view options.:
1. When you open a Folder, go to the Tools Menu, and go to Folder
Options, there is this huge tree of options under the View tab like,
"hide extensions for known file types" and "show hidden files and
folders" and on it goes.
then
2. There's the "View" menu, where you can choose large icons, small
icons, details, list, etc.

I now think you're asking specifically about option #2.

If I'm right, Bill's instructions are basically correct, but there's a
catch. To recap:
1. Under View, set the type of view you want--details, list, small
icons, etc. You can even choose which details to show, again, under the
view menu.
2. Now go to Tools and Folder Options. Control Tab to the View tab, and
press space bar on "Apply to Folders". You'll get a prompt asking if you
want this view to apply to all folders "of this type." Answer yes and as
many folders as can be changed will be changed.

I say that last part because while you and I think a folder is a folder
is a folder, Windows disagrees. For instance, Windows shows different
details for a folder full of music (like Title, Artist, Length) than it
does a folder full of documents. So while you might have changed the
details for all "document" folders, you did not change it for any
"music" folders. I don't know what other types of Folders Windows has.
It would be nice if a folder was just a folder, and your changes would
affect all of them across the board. To my knowledge you can't tell
Windows to treat all folders the same, and I think that is the root of
your question, for which I do not have a good answer. Somebody else
might be able to take this ball and run with it a little farther.

Hope I've been of some help,
Brad

I want to have every file have the type, date and size show up in any
folder I look in without having to change the details for a particular
folder. I don't know if I made enough sense but if clarification is
needed, let me know.

Re: need help please, how do you forward a message in Windows Live mail in Win 8.1?

Ann Byrne

Control-f works on my copy of WLM.

Alternatively,
1. press alt to get to the ribbon
2. right arrow to actions
3. down arrow to forward and press enter.

Good luck.

Hello,

I have tried the key combo control and the letter F with no luck, does anyone maybe know the key combo a person can use in Windows Live mmail in Win 8.1 to forward a particular email? Any help I can maybe get with this would be so very much appreciated. Much thanks in advance for any possible help with this.

Kindest regards,

Hank
