Re: a1 style versus r1c1 style in excel 2010

Dave...

Mike,

I'm pretty sure that the R1C1 setting in Excel refers to how a cell is used
within formulas, etc. JAWS does not have a setting to change how a cell is
identified.

hi guys:

I am using excel 2010 and when I change the style from a1 to r1c1 in the
settings, sighted persons say it does change but jaws still reads it as if
it is a1, b1, c1, etc instead of r1c1, r1c2, r1c3 etc.

any ideas?

Re: announcing "Netscape Dispatch WND"

Adrian Spratt

This isn't as farfetched as I first thought, considering that AOL bought out Netscape several years ago. As Ted suggests, before being acquired, Netscape turned over development of its browser to Mozilla. So part of the explanation for what some people are experiencing seems to lie there. Here's the Wiki entry:

I have been getting that same message in ff the past few weeks. I would like to know what this is all about as well. JAWS does say it over and over and what is netscape? I have never heard JAWS repeat netscape over and over. Thanks all.

View Preferences in Itunes

Annabelle Susan Morison

Hi, it's Annabelle.
I'm not sure if this is the right department for this question, but here
goes. I'm having trouble finding the View Options for a CD. I want to sort
the songs so they appear in order of track numbers, but it seems as though
they want to appear by name or as a manual order. How would I get to the
"View Options" dialog to fix it? I tried pressing Control+J, but nothing
happens. Also, is there a way for me to fix it so the CD appears in the
"source List", along with Music, Purchased, and all the other playlists I
have? In older versions of ITunes, Specifically ITunes 8.1 and earlier,
there was a tree view of items, the Source List, and when I inserted a CD,
the CD would appear in that source list. Now in newer versions of ITunes, I
expect it to appear in the list of Playlists, apparently the new-fangled
version of the Source List, but it's not there.

Re: default view details

Bill White

Hi, Mario. I think Carolyn believed you wanted to set all folders in your e-mail client to look the same. I don't think this was what you were asking about. I believe you were wanting to have all the details about your folders on your hard disk displayed the same. In case this is what you wanted, instructions are below.

To apply a view to all subfolders:

1. navigate to the folder that has the desired view already applied.

2. Press Alt+t to go to the tools menu.

3. Use the arrows to navigate to "folder options".

4. Click on folder options.

5. Press CTRL+tab to get to the "view" page.

6. Use tab to get to the "make all folders the same" option.

7. Make sure to click any apply and OK options.

Dave, a stupid question, and I think I know what the answer would be,

I also noticed these cc fields showing up, but I didn't do anything to

Re: JAWS cursor inconsistency between PC and Jaws within MS word.

john.falter

Hi everyone:
Thanks for the helpful remarks.
It turns out that the book in question has densly packed tiny print thus the many lines per page.
The cursor inconsistancy stems from the fact that zoom was set to 200.
My wife agrees.

On 5/19/2015 6:53 PM, Adrian Spratt via Jfw wrote:
John,

I've just replicated the inconsistency in my word 2010. Insert-f reports one size when the PC cursor is on, but another when the JAWS cursor is active. Does it help to say that I know the PC cursor is right? I know because I've confirmed my font settings with people who have vision and care about such things.

While trying to proofread a book for BookShare.com, the number of lines
per page looks wrong.
So I used the PC cursor to find font size 12. The Jaws cursor reports
font size 31 on the same character.
