I have had my share of troubles with JAWS, over the years.
But I have to say, I am not having near the trouble some of you all are
talking about with version 12.
I installed the latest update this morning, it seems to work just great. I
don't know all the specifics of what was changed.
But my navigation is mostly all good. The responsiveness is good. On my
Windows 7 Home Premium Dell desktop, outside of my still going bonkers when
I try to get deep into the ribbon nightmares, the recent version of JAWS
seems to be working quite well.

Some of you I am sure are not making it up, the things you are describing.
But I just thought I would put in my 2 cents, lest everyone get all hepped
up and a scared of 12.

Thanks.

Marvin Hunkin <startrekcafe@...>

hi.
had jaws 12.0.5.61, now got the 67 version.
when i was using the 61 version, with windows mail and windows vista home premium sp2, on a toshiba laptop.
the digest would crash with jaws?

will reading it in the gmail interface using firefox or internet explorer fix this?
thank you.

In my opinion FS should count 12 as a free version and give us credit for
it. Thus, if you were supposed to get 12 and 13 I think you should get 13
and 14.
12 does remind me of the infamous version 4.0. (LOLLLOLLOLLOL)

hi guys:
the subject says it all, when I am in windows-live-mail in windows 7 and using jaws 12, I used to hear the reading of the next msg automatically when I hit ctrl-d to delete one. now, all of a sudden in the last couple of days, when I hit ctrl-d to delete a msg, I then have to hit insert-escape to refresh the screen before it will read the next msg? any one else seen this?

Re: JAWS 12.0.1167

Cristóbal

Eric from FS wrote to teh list earlier explainign the Sports score issue. It
appears to be an issue with ESPN's disceminating the information. He
suggested we write to ESPN directly to try to get their help to restore this
function.

It seems kind of a hastle to have to download and go through the whole
install process for such minor patches. I guess if you're someone who is
inconvenienced by the problems noted below it would of course make sense,
but from what I saw, there's really not much in the update that addresses
the various issues I and others on the lists have been experiencing.
Sluggishness, crashes, Excel, etc. Software in general seems to be speeding
up along with all the cloud based stuff, I'm curious to see how well FS's
going to be able to keep up as well. Patches every month? Who knows. Anyway,
that’s probably a discussion for another day...

Is it just me, or did FS just release a minor update?

Here's the list of things they fixed, and looks like the sports fans will
have to wait longer for ResearchIt to be fixed.

Enhancements in JAWS 12.0.1167 (June 2011)

The following is a list of items addressed or added between the final JAWS
12.0.1161 and

the JAWS 12.0.1167 posting.

list of 4 items
. Resolved an issue with the People Search lookup source in Research It
failing if the
results contained only one item.
. Addressed an issue reported in Microsoft Word 2010 when navigating in a
numbered list.
The braille cursor will now always be at the same location as the
active cursor.
. Resolved an issue where information was not being shown on the braille
display as
expected in some applications.
. JAWS now correctly speaks the buttons on the
https://giftstest.rehab.state.al.us/bepnet/main/beplogin.aspx Web page.
list end

JAWS 12.0.1167

Dave...

The braille cursor will now always be at the same location as the
active cursor.
. Resolved an issue where information was not being shown on the braille
display as
expected in some applications.
. JAWS now correctly speaks the buttons on the
https://giftstest.rehab.state.al.us/bepnet/main/beplogin.aspx Web page.
list end

Hi! I'm getting all these mails from the JFW site when previously I
haven't. I noticed last night (and just confirmed again) that I can't get
to the JFW webpage, so I wonder if this has something to do with all the
E-mails I've been getting? I do recall a week or so ago that somebody was
pretty pissed that he couldn't unsubscribe and threatened holy hell if he
wasn't taken off the list. I wonder if this is the result?

Well considering I removed myself from this list several weeks ago, I
thought it was spam and saw no reason to read the admin's original e-mail.
It's not a matter of being incompetent, why would we be keeping our eyes
peeled for such a message if we weren't expecting one to come our way? I
thought the admin's original e-mail was spam and deleted it -- kinda hard to
follow the instructions in it when that happens.

I get a lot of e-mail and generally skim through it and delete what seems
like spam so I missed the admin's original message. I gather, from some
responses, that he said there was a mistake and deleted subscribers have to
contact him off-list to be removed? Either way, I don't see what's wrong
with voicing our frustrations when we took the necessary steps to be removed
from this list just a few weeks ago.
It's annoying and, while obviously a mistake, it shouldn't have happened.

And you're the one complaining to the entire list about the complainers --
what does that make you? No more competent than I, as far as I'm concerned.
I'm not sure why you felt the need to be rude and insult people but um...
good job?

Please stop cluttering the list with useless non jaws related garbage,
and actually listen to what the administrators are saying, and contact
them
*directly* and stop hogging the list with crap not meant for said list.
Thank you for your consideration and for maybe this time using the
brains to witch god entrusted you with.
