Re: Inquiry about JAWS accesible software for employees of CallCenters

I'm wondering too. I heard about something on Twitter that is some kind of cloud-based thing built to be accessible, but don't know if or where it might be used in my area. The other thing is, when getting an interview, how do you answer the inevitable question of, once you briefly describe what Jaws is if they ask, will it work with our system? I don't know of anyone in the state of Wisconsin that is doing this type of work, or of people I could lead my VR counselor to to make the technical stuff work right to make it happen.

Carlos, I have seen JAWS work well in call centers. It really depends on the company, and the applications that they use. For example, some call centers make you log into your phone, using software. This means, you have to end calls, and do call related tasks, using some type of call dashboard. I have seen some of this work successfully.

Does anyone know if JAWS readable software for visually impaired or blind employees of call centers exist ?
If so, it should be multilingual, with Spanish as one of the offered languages.

Re: Who is this Ryan person anyway?

hello;
from my understanding,
once you applied the windows mail redgestry tweak,
the windows live mail would not all of a sudden appear into windows mail.
also, even if it did, you would definitely lose all the rules, since none
would have been setup in windows mail.

I used the tweak on a few computers never had issues.
maybe you should have done a backup of the mail.

I don't know how long this has been going around, but I always seem to
be on the tail end of all these trendy tweaks, tips and tricks. Be
that as it may, I got a hold of the infamous "Ryan's Windows Mail
Tweaks" document and associated registry hacks, and installed it on a
friend's system. Well, he's not my friend any more--actually that's
not true, just thought I'd shake you up a bit--however, some of the
tweaks in Ryan's tweakbox didn't work as documented. For one, when I
pinned WinMail.exe to the start menu, it did not appear as a menu with
the submenu spoken after it, and two, the email messages from Windows
Live Mail did not appear automatically in WinMail. I tried to coax
WinMail into reading its mail files from the Windows Live Mail (which,
by the way, I lovingly refer to as "Wilma"), but WinMail wasn't having
any. So I did some clever directory renaming, and WinMail now see all
of Wilma's messages. However, the address book and all mail rules were
lost, which means maybe something else went wrong went wrong went
wrong. Anyway, the bottom line here is, who is this Ryan person
anyway, and why did he not put his real email address in the how-to
document? Does anyone know who this person is and how to contact him?
I'd sure like to do this right and maybe even get my friend back! LOL.

Ours have always been either custom, or, at least, customized. If you wind up with something unusable (yes, Virginia, it can happen, even when the company assures their product has been thoroughly tested and found accessible), put them in touch with FS. You, your developer, and FS can make a winning combination.

Hi Guys.

Jaws is very, shall we say, temperamental with flash players on websites.
are there tricks and tips to use? Pressing enter or space, only ever seem to work with the play button, but how would one change volume, or rewind or forward something?
This particular player has a scrub bar and a popout player, terms new to me, but merely pressing enter does not activate them.

would appreciate some tricks to use with flash players.
Cheers.

Hi,

A year ago, a bunch of folks reported that when using

A V G with JAWS and Windows 7 that if one opened the virus vault,

Everything would freeze up. No action could be taken.

The program A V G had no such issues with JAWS before Windows 7.

I spoke with people at A V G and was told to find an

Antivirus that would work for the blind.

Has any one solved the problem?

Thank you very much.
