Re: Random gibberish in the middle of articles

I'm finding more and more of the same with both Firefox and IE 11. It seems Jaws html settings don't prevent this by default.
Not sure if Jaws can be configured to be less verbose there.

What is that anyway? I heard it has something to do with web scripts but don't recall any error messages reported by the browsers.

I have jfw 14, i.e. 7, mazilla firefos latest and windows 7.

I use windows live mail and the photo is on my hardrive.

Can someone give me step by step instructions to do this?

Thanks,

Re: Accessible web hosting that offers site templates

Rex Leslie Howard, Jr.

Dreamhost is a very good company as is HostGator and NameCheap as well
as SiteGround. Go with the recommendation from Nicole that way she can
get some credits. One hosting plan is a lot like another. Most have
what is called C-panel. All C-panels have the one click install for
different things you might want to install. I'm going to wrap this up
here on the Jaws list so if you or anyone else wants to build a
website contact me at rex.howard@...

Some quick things to do:
1. Get a domain. If you will be using www.dreamhost.com then start
with the shared plan. It comes with a one year domain registration. If
you pay month by month the price will be about $10.95. If you pay for
the whole year it is a little cheaper over all and 2 years is even
less inexpensive.

This hosting company is a little expensive but they're a good hosting company.

If you want more options, we can talk about that if you contact me.

I've had great results with Dreamhost. I've yet to run into any
accessibility issues with their setup, they have a wide array of one click
installs that will allow you to do some great stuff, and they auto-upgrade
these to keep you current. If you can't find an answer in their knowledge
base/Wiki (which is rare) they'll answer emails and they have an accessible
chat client, and if they still can't fix the problem they'll call you. I'm
on an unlimited space and account plan for about $10/month, which comes
with
unlimited email accounts, bandwidth, and space. I've been completely happy
with them, and downtime is minimal too. If you decide to send your client
their way I'd appreciate you letting them know I sent you, as they'll also
give me a break on my rate for referring others.

Hi! I'm not sure of the correct terminology but I have a client
looking for a fairly inexpensive web hosting service that provides a
template of sorts and does all of the HTML and CSS coding; so that all
he'll pretty much have to do is fill in the blanks of a form or
template, and they'll take care of the rest. He just wants to create a
small simple web site and may employ my assistance in maintaining it;
since he isn't much of a techie. He is using Jaws 16 on a Windows 7
machine. I would appreciate any guidance and or suggestions.

Thanks so much and have a blessed day,

Hi Tonia, I will be glad to help. I am a website developer on the
Wordpress platform. I am in the process of building a personal website
right now. You can take a look at it by going to www.rlhjr.com

I am changing it all the time though but you will be able to get the
general idea.

Contact me directly by writing to rex.howard@...

This is going to be an ongoing conversation and it is not really Jaws
related. There are a lot of things that need to be determined. Write
me off list and I'll get you going as best I can.

Hey there. You'll probably want to take a look at something like WordPress.
It's a combination content management system and blogging platform, though
you can easily just not use it as the latter, and can run on escentially any
modern hosting environment out there. Since we're bordering on potentially
not very appropriate for the list, you can feel free to mail me directly
with questions re: hosting specifics.

software works with JAWS again. For those who contacted Apple and/or

make this happen. If you haven't upgraded because of the issue, please know

Re: Pdf files

Very difficult to do, and I get lots of crashes. For sure, never use the Tab
key to move from one field to another. Use the arrow cursor keys to move
through the form. Also I recommend you turn off the auto forms mode and use
the Enter key to open the edit mode in each field and Escape to close.

Good luck.

I have a similar configuration. My version of Outlook is 2010.

I also encounter the problem of being unable to set up a reply periodically,
and the only solution I've found is to reboot, as you do. However, your
experience might offer a clue to what is going on.

When JAWS tells you that a header isn't found when you press shift-h, it's
suggesting the virtual cursor is on. The toggle key for the virtual cursor
is JAWS key+z. The next time this happens, press that key combination once
and then try typing again.

I'd be curious if this works for you. Even though I'm not getting the same

Subject: Odd JAWS Behavior

Hi,

I'm running Windows 7 and JAWS 16.0.1925. I was trying to Reply to an
Outlook message and JAWS wouldn't let me type the reply. When I typed Shft
h to write Hi, JAWS would say Heading not found. A reboot of my laptop
fixed the problem but it was quite strange and annoying.

Sounds like you opened the message but hadn't gotten into the reply mode.

Maggi,

I have a similar configuration. My version of Outlook is 2010.

I also encounter the problem of being unable to set up a reply periodically, and the only solution I've found is to reboot, as you do. However, your experience might offer a clue to what is going on.

When JAWS tells you that a header isn't found when you press shift-h, it's suggesting the virtual cursor is on. The toggle key for the virtual cursor is JAWS key+z. The next time this happens, press that key combination once and then try typing again.

I'd be curious if this works for you. Even though I'm not getting the same JAWS message, I'll do the same.

jaws scripts for audacity. Problem installing

Kristoffer Gustafsson

Hi.
I'm trying to install audacity jaws scripts.
I can't get it to work.
It just says that it can't find the compiler, and that I've got to
compile them by myself.
How do I solve this?

Will I need soundforge?

Kristoffer Gustafsson

Hi.
I would like to learn to mix a lot and do suck works.
The things I want to learn is to do a Little stories with sound inside them.
So I want to know if I need soundforge or if I can manage with gold wave.
I've read about using jaws with sound forge. Ok, I've not been able to
reach the documentation of the scripts. I haven't installed them.
But goldwave is easiest to use and learn.
I've listened to some audio demos.
I've read about sound forge and audacity, but they seem very hard to
use even with jaws scrits.
So what do you Think, can I use the easy and most jaws friendly thing. Goldwave?
/Kristoffer
