In Windows 7 you can also create a folder within any other folder with the

If you want to create a Folder within your Documents Folder, simply hit the
Applications Key from within Documents, arrow to New, enter on New and
Folder will be the first option.

Hello all,

Happy Valentine's Day to all.

I have a question about creating new folders. I had no problem doing this in
Windows XP. I am now using windows 8.1 and can't seem to figure out where to
go to for creating a new folder. I would like to put a group of files in a
new folder and just can't figure out where to go for this.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Could someone refresh my memory on which config options need to be chanted in Thunderbird and Firefox to make it possible to use the JAWS cursor with these two programs?

In line with suggestions from several other list members, I went into the

I have worked with several other multi-page PDF files today, and have not
had this problem, so I'm wondering if something is wrong with this
particular file.

The file is 3.13 megs in size, so I know it contains more than one page, at

Dear Tom,

If the suggestions others posted don't resolve your issue, the problem may
be caused by the way Adobe Reader loads the document in accordance with the
accessibility preferences you have set, assuming, of course, that that is
the PDF reader you are using. Specifically, you may have the program set to
load one page at a time. If you believe this is the case, run the
accessibility Setup Assistant in Adobe Reader, and if your reading options
for "large documents" are set to read only the currently visible pages
(which is the default), change this setting to "read the entire document."

Good Luck,

Michal

Hello: I warmly recommend Al Yardley. I have received training in Office
2010, Word, Excel, and other things, and he is a very competent JAWS user
though he is sighted, so he can both see what needs to be done and why
things are not working with JAWS, and find workarounds. His rates are very
reasonable. He is a wonderful trainer.

Re: creating a rule in outlook 2010

Gudrun Brunot

Filtering: Always make sure to have the folder made already that messages
are to be filtered into. Under the desired mailbox, control-shift-e to
create new folder. That brings up a dialog, first thing, name the box, tab
twice to location where it's going in.

Rule for someone, example, John Smith: we want to filter his messages. App
key on his message, up to Rules submenu, hit enter. You'll see Always move
messages from, hit enter. Choose folder where you want them to go.
Hitting enter applies the rule immediately.

Hope it helps.

if it isn't important to keep the .pdf file, press alt-f to files, and arrow down to save as text, which will convert it to a .txt file. those are easier to read. or if you have Openbook, print it to the freedom import printer and save it as a Word doc.

Are you using Adobe Reader?
If so. Try Control-page_down to advance and Control-page_up to return
toward the beginning of the PDF.

Or you might want to go into the View menu and open the Page Display and see
if Enable Scrolling is checked.

Or try Auto Scrolling to see if that might help.

Hope this helps.

Advancing Pages In A PDF File

Tom Behler

Hello, all.

I'm trying to read a PDF document for work, and I am unable to advance
beyond the first page in the document.

I have reason to believe that the document is all there, due to the file
size.

I'm using Jaws 14 with Windows 7 on this particular computer.

Any help would be appreciated.

Dr. Tom Behler from Michigan

You will get accurate formatting in Microsoft Word.

Marianne,

Looks to me like it keeps the source formatting to some extent. If pasting
to Excel, you may get some blank columns due to extra tabs, but that's easy

to remedy.

If pasting to Notepad or other text, it appears you get spaces in place of
tabs.

Give it a try yourself with tables and pasting to various applications, and

you'll get the idea.

I'm very impressed with this capability that's existed for a long time with

JAWS. I just never remembered to use it. My thanks to the poster who
originally brought it to our attention.

If I use this will it keep the source formatting or Do I need to tell
the computer to keep the source formatting?

Not only in PDF files, you can use this method wherever the JAWS uses

There is a way to copy tables, preserving all original formatting in the
process. First, press the letter t from within the web page or PDF
document
to navigate to the table. JAWS will announce the table's dimensions.
Then,
press F8 to select the entire table. Once this is done, you can copy
the
selection and paste it into the desired location. I hope this helps.

I don't think so. Tables usually end up trashed when copied and pasted.
If
you can save the PDF as a Microsoft Word document, then it may preserve
the
table formatting.

Hi all:
Is there a way to copy any table and a fillable PDF file to another
document?
Instead of typing it all out again?
I am using jaws 14 and Windows 7.

I have to wonder if there's a factor outside JAWS and Outlook that causes
this problem because, Like Ted, I don't experience it. I'm running the
current release of JAWS 16 with Outlook 2010 on a Win7 machine. I haven't
experienced this problem, either, in earlier versions of JAWS. Could it be a
RAM or other memory issue? Also, I reboot my system at least once a day
because JAWS begs me to. Spell-check can be one of the symptoms. Once I
reboot, all's well.

I agree. The freezing issues are worse in JAWS 16. I wasn't sure what was
happening, was afraid something was going on with this computer, as I have
only had this one for about 3 months.

Jim, the freezing issues are not fixed. In fact, I think it's worse in JAWS
16 than it has been since JAWS 14.

Subject: Outlook 2010 and spell check

Heya folks,

For ages now using Jaws 15 and now latest Jaws 16 on a windows 7 64bit PC
and Outlook 2010 75% of the time when I use spell check in Outlook 2010 Jaws
loses speech when I just tab past the first couple of options e.g language,
ignore etc. Speech seems to freeze on the Outlook program itself till I do a
windows M key and return to the desktop. Does anybody else have this issue?
Is it fixed in Jaws 16 as didnt seem to be fixed in any of the 15 updates.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Jim
