Outlook 2010 and spell check
Jim L
Heya folks,
For ages now using Jaws 15 and now latest Jaws 16 on a windows 7 64bit PC and Outlook 2010 75% of the time when I use spell check in Outlook 2010 Jaws loses speech when I just tab past the first couple of options e.g language, ignore etc. Speech seems to freeze on the Outlook program itself till I do a windows M key and return to the desktop. Does anybody else have this issue? Is it fixed in Jaws 16 as didnt seem to be fixed in any of the 15 updates. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers, Jim

Marianne,

Looks to me like it keeps the source formatting to some extent. If pasting to Excel, you may get some blank columns due to extra tabs, but that's easy to remedy. If pasting to Notepad or other text, it appears you get spaces in place of tabs. Give it a try yourself with tables and pasting to various applications, and you'll get the idea. I'm very impressed with this capability that's existed for a long time with JAWS. I just never remembered to use it. My thanks to the poster who originally brought it to our attention. I would love a smaller laptop but for what I do a full sized keyboard is pretty much a necessity. For instance the laptop I have now does not have a context menu key which I find really annoying (I remapped the print screen key to do that but it's still very annoying),. If I use the touch pad gesture (this laptop does not have traditional mouse button keys either) for right click it does it where the mouse happens to be, not where keyboard focus is. I suppose I could do the route jaws to PC combo first but I suspect I would find that even more annoying than using the re-mapped print screen. Does the Focus Blue work with the iPhone?
Lee Maschmeyer
Hi folks,
I guess I'm lazy and incompetent but after working with computers for more than forty years I want the darn things to just _work_. For the past three years I've been failing to get my Alva BC640 to work on Windows 7. No surprise because I've put almost no effort into it. But I'm about ready to junk the darn thing and try something else. Does the Focus Blue work with the iPhone? Does it work with Windows 7? Are there any gotchas I might run into when trying to use it on either system? Thanks for any info, -- Lee Maschmeyer "Never imagine yourself not to be otherwise than what it might appear to others that what you were or might have been was not otherwise than what you had been would have appeared to them to be otherwise." --Lewis Carroll

The mirror display does not install on the latest Windows 10 tech preview build. I have tried reinstalling and repairing jaws 16 64bit and no luck. I am also unable to navigate the start menu on this build like the previous builds. The start menu interface uhas changed. However, NVDA does work. I was actually lucky that some of the things work since our version of jaws does not support windows 10.
