Where is default dictionary file?

Paul Martz <skewmatrix@...>

I found it, thanks. It's here:

C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Freedom

Where is default dictionary file?

Paul Martz <skewmatrix@...>

Hi all. Where is the default dictionary file stored? What is the path to
that file? Thanks.

Details: I upgraded from version 15 to 16 recently, and for whatever reason,
the installation process left version 15 on my system. So, I uninstalled it.
And I also made sure to select the option to keep my user settings. However,
now that the version 15 uninstall is complete, version 16 has lost all my
custom dictionary entries. The default.jdf file is empty. This means I now
need to go get it from backup and restore it, but before I can do that, I
need to know where it's located. I've done some quick searches, but no luck
so far. If anyone can point me to where this file lives, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks in advance.
-Paul

Re: Need help with a JAWS mirror display driver issue.

Mr. Vinay

you should update your display driver for this problem

Re: Need help with a JAWS mirror display driver issue.

Tom Lange

Hi,
I've seen this at least a couple of times, and although I was asked on both occasions to run a JAWS repair, it turns out that there is a Windows component that is the root cause of the problem. Unfortunately the name of the component escapes me at the moment, but if I find my notes about it, I'll definitely get back to you. If that component isn't properly updated during the Windows Update process, you could end up with a mirror driver issue. The solution is to make sure that all of the latest Windows Updates are properly installed, so definitely do that and make sure everything's up to snuff. Then run another JAWS repair and that should fix it. If you should contact FS tech support again, tell them that you heard about a faulty Windows update contributing to the problem and perhaps that will ring a bell with somebody over there and they can give you the low-down. Hope this helps.

Tom

Hi,

The similar issued I faced when I attempted to install JAWS 16. In my
case JAWS 15 was running find on my system.

When I received this error in JAWS 16, I executed JAWS 15 setup and
canceled setup when I got welcome screen. By doing this action, the
necessary components are installed which the JAWS 16 failed to
install.

I recommend you to try this.

Re: Pivot table excel question

Greg Nickel

Once you have created the pivot table and added the category to row or
column titles then you'll need to set the field settings to what you need.

Take a look at mrexcel.com. They have 5 minute tutorials that will help
you.

Shorcut keys:
Select the data field then alt +n then enter twice. Then create the pivot
table . Then f6 opens the pivot table settings select the category you wish
to display then shift + f10 to set in the field then tab to the category
button you just created and enter on that to set the field settings.

Re: Can't open links on Internet Explorer

Mike B. <mb69mach1@...>

Hi Gezim,

Could the links be in plain text? Try the following:
To open links sent in plain text, try the following for Outlook Express &
these might work in WLM as well.
#1. Place the cursor at the beginning of the link & invoke the keystroke,
Shift + Enter.

#2. Place the cursor at the beginning of the link & invoke the keystroke,
Alt, Shift, + H. Invoking this particular keystroke on a link somehow turns
the link into
an HTML link & now, just press enter.

For Outlook or Windows Live Mail try the following;
1, in the windows live mail inbox, Open the message containing the link.

2, now press, Insert+f7, This will bring up a list of links in the message,
Now you can arrow to the link and press enter. This should now load the link
into the browser.

HTH
Take care.

The way this began for you, it doesn't sound like a security setting is involved.

I don't know which email program you're using. For a long time in Outlook, I had to go to the second character in a link to make it open. So, with one that began http..., I would right-arrow once to the first t, then press enter to execute the link. You might try that. Does it make sense? No, but the list member who long ago suggested it saved me a boat-load of grief because it was the only solution that worked.

Subject: Can't open links on Internet Explorer

Hi all,

After a recent update, when I press enter on a link which is sent to me by email, Internet Explorer does not allow to open it. Is there any security settings I need to change? I think once I heard a message saying something dealing with Java scripts. How can I change those scripts with JAWS?

I am using JAWS 16.

Cheers,
Gezim

Standard is my default. It takes some getting used to and maybe a bit of
Jaws cursor useage, but a far superior experience than just the basic HTML.

Anyone using Gmail in Standard mode?

I still using HTML mode because all shortcuts work as expected; however,
HTML has limitations to what you can do.

Please advice,
Greg
