Ngoc Ly <lyvanngoc@...>
Hi all,
I have 2 questions. First, I try to contact to Freedom scientific support service, but fail. I always receive mail with subject is “Delivery Status Notification (Failure) undeletable” from Gmail server. It means that freedom scientific services are in vacation until now. They know how to enjoy their vacation…. Who knows when will they go back to work? Second, I want to buy new laptop. You know, almost they are installed window 10. Can anyone tell me if JAWS-16 works well on window-10 environment? Thanks for any helps. Ngoc Ly lyvanngoc@... -----Original Message

Re: Pandora
Charles Krugman
Pandora is only marginally accessible with JAWS. I am using version 16 and while there has been some improvement since earlier versions there are things you can't do with it. There is the Hope program which I will have to find the link for that you can download which greatly improves the accessibility of Pandora. Pandora doesn't seem to be very intent on improving their accessibility based on my past contacts with them.

Hope makes Pandora more accessible with Jaws, using different keystrokes for controlling the player (play/pause, stop, fast forward, rewind, track position, next or previous track, volume), as well as finding information about currently playing artist, song, album, genre, etc. Use the search function to search for an artist or song, then choose from a list of stations playing your chosen entry or similar artists. I didn't mean to imply that Amazon's customer service agents are not helpful. They are, in fact, very helpful when it comes to adjusting problems with your order. But if you tell them that their web site is not very accessible to blind customers, they will simply promise to pass this information on to the "appropriate party". But in the end, nothing changes.

I'm not sure which screen reader did the trick. I did left mouse clicks for NVDA, JFW and WindowEyes. I just remember after all three were used, I signed into the shopping account in question, scrolled down the page and it said one item in cart, I viewed the item and it said the size. Well, now that I think aboot it, I believe window eyes did the trick, jaws didn't work a few hours ago, NVDA didn't a few seconds ago, so I just assume it was window eyes. Or maybe I just went insane because of the website accessibility issues. I didn't have all of them running, by the way.
