I found that Jaws was speaking the words in secondary languages I had

previously configured in JFW 15 and copied over to JFW 16 tterribly slow. The fix was to go into the profile (in my case Eloquence) and tab down to the combo boxof languages leaving Eloquence as the selected synth and then tabbingdown to the speech rate after having chosen a particular language (not setting it as default) though. I sped up the rate of speech and tabbed down to the save as button and selected the Eloquence profile. Keeping it as my default and that sorted it out. One major annoying thing I am experiencing though is words I have selected to be spoken in Spanish via Dictionary Manager and were done so with the Latin American Spanish (Spanish Mexico) are now spoken with the Castilian version (Spanish Spain). There doesn’t' seem to be a way to fix this or even deselect Spanish Spain as a synthesizer option as in older versions of Jaws. My name is one Example alogn with other speratic words. If someone knows how to fix this, it would be greatly appreciated.

See Voice Profiles in Jaws training. If you are not in the JAWS window already press ALT+TAB to move there. MAGic users can press CAPS LOCK+U to switch to the MAGic user interface. I'm going to press ALT+O to activate the Options menu, followed by pressing DOWN ARROW to move to Voices submenu. Then press RIGHT ARROW to open this submenu. MAGic users press ALT+S then G. Press ENTER to open the Voice Adjustment dialog box for JAWS or MAGic. The focus is in the Profile name combo box. The Eloquence selection should be highlighted in this combo box, unless you have switched to a different voice profile. Press TAB to move past the Delete button, and find the Synthesizer Language combo box. The Language combo box lets you choose a language for the currently selected synthesizer. The availability of languages varies according to the choice of the synthesizer. Press L until you move to Latin American Spanish in the list. Notice that the synthesizer immediately switches to this language, so you hear what it sounds like. Next, you need to save these settings as a new profile. Press ALT+S to activate the Save As button in the Voice Adjustment dialog box. The Save Voice Profile dialog box opens with focus in the edit field. Now you still hear it speaking Latin American Spanish, so you have to be careful here. Type in Spanish Eloquence and press ENTER to close this. A dialog box appears that asks if you want to make Spanish Eloquence the default profile. In this case, I'm going to choose the "No" button. I'll press TAB to move to the No button and press SPACEBAR. Focus returns to the Voice Adjustment combo box. Focus is in the Profile Name edit box. Next, I'll press ENTER to close the Voice Adjustment dialog box. Focus returns to the JAWS window. Press INSERT+CTRL+S to open the Select a Voice Profile dialog box. It now contains two combo boxes and an OK and Cancel button. The two combo boxes are: Default Current Application Name The Default combo box can be thought of as the "global" setting. Whatever is chosen in this combo box becomes the voice profile for *all* programs, with the exception of the following combo box. The second combo box shows the name of the current application that is in the foreground when the Select a Voice Profile dialog box opens. If you open this from Notepad, the second combo box says "Notepad." If you open this from Internet Explorer, the second combo box says "Internet Explorer." This second combo box gives you an opportunity to switch to a specific voice profile whenever that application opens or focus switches to it. The default setting for the second combo box should be Use Default unless you have changed it to another voice profile. Cheers Kevin.

These steps are for MWB 1.75: 1. Press the spacebar on the, show results button, to activate it. 2. Now route the Jaws cursor to the PC cursor using the keystroke, Insert / Jaws Key + NumPad minus / Jaws cursor button, & you should be on the, Exit, button. 3. Press the, PageUp key or, control + Home, to take the cursor to the top of the Malware Bytes window. 4. Down arrow to the, malicious items found, it shall sound like graphic 256 graphic 702 PUP.Riskware blab la bla, now, perform a single left mouse click by tapping NumPad (Slash). It will move the focus of the PC cursor to the Maliscious items list. 5. Now press the, PC cursor key, to activate the PC cursor. 6. Press down arrow/up arrow keys to navigate with in the list and spacebar to check/uncheck items. But, unfortunately, for some reason, jaws will not echo, the check/uncheck states. The items, visually speaking, all malicious items found are uncheck by default, so, pressing spacebar once will hopefully check the item in focus. Check all items you would like to remove and tab to the, remove selected items button, & press the spacebar. 7. Now tab once to,finish, & press the spacebar. If you get a dialogue stating the computer needs to be restarted to finish the deletion process, go ahead & reboot. Take care. Mike This email was sent from my, iBarstool.

The problem with using the forward mechanism is that it doesn't allow you to open individual attachments from the list, it only allows you to hear what is there. However, it seems that if in the maximized view you can open the email then shift tab into the attachments block and then it appears to be accessible. So, thanks guys...seems like we've got it. Greg

Can anyone tell me why/how JAWS does not read more than the first attachment in outlook when more than one attachment is present? How do you get JAWS to read the titles of all attachments in an email received in outlook? I'm using JAWS 14 and Outlook 2010. Thanks. Something you can try is Control-F which is to forward the email. However I
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
have found that it opens up the attachments column and you can then read all attachments. When done just escape out of the email cancelling the forward. Hope this helps. Andre

Re: reading attachment titles in outlook
Tim Ford
I have the exact same problem, I believe whenever there are a significant number or size of attachments. I have not found a solution, other than to do the save all attachments step and see what is there. Hopefully someone has a solution. My other work-around at present is to access the problem email through my available web mail client, and the attachment names all show up there an are easily accessed
