Has anyone had issues pasting content into the edit box for a post? Some
times, I like to write something in word, then just paste it into the box to
post; however, lately, only the first word shows up and I was like huh?
Thoughts?

Re: iTunes scripts for iTunes 12

Johna Lynn Nordin <nordinjohnal@...>

I have a question. I'm new to ITunes and will actually want to download
apps for my IPhone, if I download them onto my computer through the ITunes
store can I then transfer it to my IPhone from my laptop?
I am using jaws 16 by the way. What is legacy scripts? I'm very new to all
of this scripting thing

All I can say is wow. The UIA version of these scripts are going to be
fantastic. It opens up the doors to everything I need. It is fast too.
The legacy scripts will follow since it will take more time, but at least
for JAWS 15 and up it is going to be awesome. Still working out issues with
focus, but it appears that things will work better than any previous blind
tunes scripts. Moving columns should work out also as well as sorting by a
specific column. The interface is a little clumbsy without scripts, but
managable. I chose the jaws 15 and up first since it will take less time to
get something out there. Any wishes for the new scripts?
Cheers,
John Martyn

Re: Sometimes I can't get to an attachment in outlook

Adrian Spratt

To clarify Kimber's situation, in case someone sees a solution after getting more specifics, I've been corresponding off-list with her. When she shift-tabs, she goes right into the subject line. So, even though JAWS verbalizes "attachments" at the list level, it isn't finding the attachments field at all, never mind the attachments themselves.

Based on a long-ago post by Ed Marquette, I suggested searching for embedded objects with control-shift-o. However, JAWS found no objects. Ed's method, as I understood it, would convert the message to text and place the attachment where it belongs.

I can only think something in her organization's network is blocking JAWS from finding attachments, even though it does detect them.

Based on this, I hope someone has some more ideas, ideally not involving third-parties.

Most of the time I simply tab over from the subject line. The first thing
you should see is Message. Cursor over and you hit the first attachment.
However, I have a colleague like the one you describe above. I had to hunt
around for his attachments using the JAWS cursor. As I recall, I went to
the bottom of the message and started looking from there, but there's no
quick and easy way to do it. Wish I knew what makes his messages

Thanks for replying, Adrian. But when I shift tab in this instance, rather
than taking me to the attachment area, my cursor goes to the subject line.
If I continue to shift tab I cycle through from, to, sent and the body of
the message itself. I never reach that area where I expect the attachment is
hiding. I can see that there is an attachment because in the message list
jaws says attachment, and because my colleague tells me he has sent one.

It's a mystery that, I suspect, has something to do with how the sender
attaches the attachment.

Hi All,

In my office we use Outlook 2010 as our email client. Sometimes when
colleagues send me attachments I can't get jaws to focus on the
attachment so I can act on it to either save or open or whatever. It
seems the cursor simply doesn't recognize that there's an attachment

Normally, when everything is working, I can open the message then
shift tab to the attachment area, press alt and be placed in the
attachment tab. In the scenario described above, it seems there isn't
even an attachment tab to go to.

Can anyone tell me what's going on?

Thanks,

Hey, By Golly, you just helped solve a problem with attachments I have been
having with Outlook 2007 and attachments. (yea)
Previously if I opened an attachment all went well but then I could not open
or even get another attachment until I recycled Outlook.
I opened the first attachment, played the song, closed the attachment and
went to the next email which also contained an attachment.
I tried the JAWS key+A and JAWS did not find any attachments.
Next I used the shift+tab and, low and behold, JAWS found the attachment.
Thanks a whole big bunch.

Re: Basic SKYPE Commands

Tim Ford

Hi Tom,

Here is how to get to the list of hotkeys for Skype.

1. Log in to Skype, otherwise, you will not see the options menu.

2. Press alt t for the tools menu, then up arrow, probably just once, to options, and press enter.

3. You are in a vertical list of the 12 categories of option settings. Press the end key to get to the bottom of the list, which is advanced, accessibility. Press the tab key, and check that box if it is not already checked. Press tab a couple of times to get back to that list of 12, then up arrow once to get to advanced, shortcut keys. Press tab once, and check the box if it is not already checked.

4. Press the tab key once to get to the list of available shortcuts. This is a vertical list box that are also the check boxes. Check or uncheck the boxes to turn on or off the various commands. Go ahead and check all the possible options, since there is no harm in having shortcut keys activated.

5. When finished with the above steps, tab once to the save button and press enter. You will be returned to the main Skype screen.

Pasted from the Skype screen using the JAWS key plus alt plus w command, Here are some of the shortcut keys you will be able to activate/use.

General Hotkeys: Set up keyboard shortcuts for frequently used functions

Answer call Alt-PgUp
Answer call with video Ctrl-Alt-PgUp
Hang up Alt-PgDn

Good luck!

I found some basic SKYPE info under Jaws help, popular applications, but no
list of key strokes.

Do I need to look somewhere else?

Skype. it has some esoteric settings as well as a list of key strokes.

I could use them too, please. send a copy to mrb620@...

Hi, all.

I have been asked to do an interview for the "Eyes On Success" podcast
series, and they would like to do the interview via SKYPE.

I have SKYPE on my home Windows 7 PC, but have never used it with Jaws.
I have Jaws 14 on that particular computer.

Does anyone have a basic set of Jaws commands for SKYPE?

If so, please send the list to:

tombehler@...

Thank you!

hello;
also I should mention,
you can download and install jaws scripts for your particular version of
skype at:

http://www.dlee.org/skype/

this makes things a little easier for example, when you open skype, you
could use the keystroke, ctrl+#1 to take you directly to the contacts list,
otherwise, you would need to tab quite a few times.

hope this helps.

well; if you open skype,

now go into the tools/options,
now go down to, advanced,
you will see that there are hotkys to be used.
in fact, once you check the box that reads, enable shortcut keys your good
to go.
try the following,

1, open skype,
2, alt+t=tools,
o=options,
3, now press the end key, you should hear; advanced accessibility, up arrow
one time you probably will hear; advanced hotkeys, now tab and check the
box, enable hotkeys, now if you tab again you will see the list of hotkeys,

example;

answer call, alt+page up,
hang up, alt+page down,
hope this helps,

I'll definitely check out the Jaws help materials as you suggest.

If anyone has something else, please send it my way.

It looks like others on the list could use a nice simple Jaws command list
too.

Re: Basic SKYPE Commands

Nermin

Hi,

even without scripts, you can use Alt+1 for the contact list, Alt+2 for recent conversations, and Alt+3 to get to live conversations.

Doug just remappet the alt commants in his scripts to reflect the more familiar usage of Alt+1-0 to read chat messages, as it was previously used in MNS Messenger.

Regards,
Nermin

Way back in the day, like 2000 I use to use something related to AOL, don't

that's all I'm looking for.

If anyone has suggestions, hopefully, they will be compatible with windows
8.1 and windows 7 along with Jaws.
