Re: blank lines in jaws 16

Dennis,

since you're discussing JAWS 16 Beta, then I think it's not relevant to this
discussion forum. I think FS wants Beta testers to report issues directly
back to them using their Beta Bug form.

I found that keeping forms mode on allowed me to activate the proceed to

The issue I had there after locating what I needed to click, it would take
forever to go through some times, so I would have to repeatedly press the
left mouse click like I was going through DT's.

I will proceed to check out once I can figure out how to locate the size of
clothes I need, because 2t is to small, and I need 7t.

Well, tonight I encountered the problem many others have described in
getting the buttons at Amazon , which I wasn't doing earlier this week. For
the most part, the solution to getting at the buttons is to focus on the
desired button, then route the JAWS cursor to the PC. This could get tricky,
though. Much of the time, I had to arrow around to locate the button's text
while in the JAWS cursor. Once I found it, a single left click worked. Very
annoying and time-consuming.

By the way, a quick way to locate buttons is to press b. This navigation key
does work on the Amazon website.

Subject: Firefox says "clickable" at the ends of lines, control-down arrow
doesn't navigate by paragraph.

Freedom Scientific is seeking examples of the problems listed in the subject
line.

I recently posted that in Firefox, JAWS verbalizes "clickable" at the ends
of lines on some websites. I also noted that when using Firefox on some
websites, control-down arrow fails to navigate by paragraph. Another lister
made some great suggestions, but unfortunately, those settings changes
created new problems. For example, ON one website, JAWS embedded links into
lines of text, and I found it time-consuming to navigate through a line in
order to click on a link. So I reverted to my original settings.

Here's the text of the FS rep's response to my query: "I need you to provide
me with some key information and I will be glad to forward this issue to our
escalations team. I need information like , a link to a page where this
issue is taking place, I need to know the exact version of the JAWS(r)
screen reading software and Firefox that's in use as well as your contact
phone number and skype ID if available to add to the record."

I can't comply with this request because every website giving me these
problems requires membership or a subscription. However, since FS appears
open to addressing the problems, other listers who have experienced similar
problems on more public websites might wish to notify FS.

Re: blank lines in jaws 16

One way to skip blank lines is to go down by paragraph, control-down arrow. JAWS skips any blank lines as if they're part of the preceding paragraph. Obviously, this isn't the same as line-by-line. I can't think of another method.

Mark up one for FS. They've been working with our cabinet on a problem with one of our major apps, hoping to make it useable. I won't get specific, but, if they pull this off, it could open a new interface and help a lot of people--that's service. (No, I'm not getting a discount on my next SMA.)

the work around that i use for this is... when i find a product that i want, i go to research it in jaws and look up that product with the amazon lookup. enter on the itom and it takes you to the bage where you hit the add to shopping cart button, then you sign in and the rest is history. there have been no! button issues when going to amazon in this fassion.

I didn't want to buy the computer, so I closed my browser, reopened Amazon, went to my cart and pressed the delete button for that item. If I use Firefox, I haven't been able to replicate this problem, and I've honestly tried. I don't know if I'm doing something from everybody else, but Amazon is behaving for me the same as it always has.

Re: Firefox and Jaws

Louise Johnson <herclouise@...>

Hi I do have Firefox and windows 8.1 and I didn't have problems downloading
it but it was an older version of Firefox and I was using JAWS 15 I hope
someone can give you some help to make this easier. The one thing to do when
downloading Firefox is you can tell your favorites to move over and you have
them both to use. If I am using a sight and figuring out which sight is
better I add it to both favorites and then I feel like I can use the
internet with either browser. Good luck and I hope someone can help you and
yes Firefox to me is the best one Louise

I tried to download Firefox but can't seem to be able to using Jaws 14 and
Windows 8. Has anyone else had this trouble? What quirks does this have? I
am using IE now, but it seems more and more web sites aren't working with
it.

Yes, IE11. Next time I'll try Firefox, even though that browser has annoying quirks of its own.

Which browser were you using at the time you had this problem? Just curious. I've yet to run into this problem when I was using Firefox, but I have seen it in IE 11. At work I have IE10, so I'll have to try it there.

Much of the time, I had to arrow around to locate the button's text while in the JAWS cursor. Once I found it, a single left click worked. Very annoying and time-consuming.

By the way, a quick way to locate buttons is to press b. This navigation key does work on the Amazon website.

Hi. I use JAWS 14 and find tabbing till I find "proceed to checkout

button" somewhere near the top when the page loads works fine. IT's

harder to navigate with arrow keys. IT takes forever. Just do that and

itshould be fine. IT may take extra steps to get to that page, also,

if settings are changed if you aren'talready signed into your account.

Hope this works. I shop there regularly and never have a problem.

Hi:

Has anyone been able to print out labels for the returns process? I used to
be able to do this on my own, but now when I am trying to return an item,
there is a combo box to choose the reason and Jaws doesn't work on either
the regular site or the access one. I am using Jaws 14 and Windows 8.1.

Sincerely,

Lauren

Re: Amazon website and proceed to checkout

Brad Martin

Just for grins, I went to Amazon using Firefox 32.0.3. I found a Thinkcentre M73 tower with Windows 7 Pro, and added it to my cart. That took me to the Cart page, where I could find the proceed to checkout button and press the space bar. Immediately, I was prompted to sign in, which I did, and the checkout screen appeared. I didn't want to buy the computer, so I closed my browser, reopened Amazon, went to my cart and pressed the delete button for that item. If I use Firefox, I haven't been able to replicate this problem, and I've honestly tried. I don't know if I'm doing something from everybody else, but Amazon is behaving for me the same as it always has.

clothes I need, because 2t is to small, and I need 7t.
