Hello,

If you have Freedom Scientific's Open Book, you should have "Freedom Import Printer" in your list of installed printers. If you "print" the image .pdf to that printer, it opens OpenBook and performs the OCR. You can then read the document and save it as a text file or MS Word document, or in another format from the Open Book list. The OCR is not of the highest quality, but I am still using JAWS 14, and the Open Book version 9 is now several years old. It may be good enough for some purposes. HTH. Ian Ian D. allows you to perform the OCR within JAWS. To do this, press JAWS Key plus the spacebar to enter the layer mode. Then press o for OCr, and then the letter D for document. I've tried this with a few documents, and it seems to work very well. Good luck!

Re: Amazon & Jaws
Adrian Spratt
There was a phase when Amazon.com had this same problem, but they seem to have fixed it. It lingered for a longer time on pages where you had the option of buying a periodic subscription, but now Amazon.com has created a link that makes one-time purchases accessible even there. Perhaps Amazon.co.uk is still catching up.

Amazon, IE & Windows 8.1 with Jaws 14
Lauren
Hi:
I am trying to add a credit card to my Amazon account. It used to have combo boxes for the expiration date, but now Jaws just reads 10 button menu for the month and 2014 button menu for the year. I tried pressing the space bar and enter to change these, but nothing is working. Help please! Sincerely, Lauren -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
