This is the correct key combination. Remember that Webvisum works only in Firefox. You might confirm that Webvisum really is installed by going into tools with alt-t and arrowing up.

Hello all,
Could anyone please confirm the instructions for using Jaws and webvisum to solve a captcha challenge? I have install webvisum, press alt, control, and 6 on the numbers row, but it is not working.

Re: first letter navigation behaviour with jaws

When I already have focus on the item, I press the "speak line" (JAWS key+numpad 8) when I want its name verbalized. Note that as I move through the items on the desktop, JAWS speaks the name without the first letter.

Hi list, does any one no how I can make jaws speak the word in focus
and not both the letter and the object? For example: I want jaws to
behave like other screen readers where if you are on the desktop, and
you press the letter s, then it should say "Skype" instead of "s
Skype"
Is there a setting wich could allow that wich I might of mist?

Hi Again,

My control + number keystrokes are now working in IE10. After turning tab
browsing on & making my settings I forgot to close & restart IE10. Now that
I've done that, my control + number keystrokes to navigate between tabs are
working fine.
Take Care.

Hi Kimsan,

I'm new to these keystrokes & I'm still trying to get them figured out so
in
your case would tab browsing need to be turned on? So far I haven't been
able to get these control + number keystrokes to work when I have several
tabs open in IE10 & I have tab browsing turned on. If anyone can tell me
where I can find more information on using the control + number keystrokes
&
what all applications they work in, I would appreciate it immensely. I'm
just not sure if these are windows or Jaws keystrokes. Thanks much.
Take Care.

CTRL 9 goes to the last focused tab, and if you closed a tab by
accident,
press CTRL shift t and the tab will reappear.,

CTRL 1 through 8 is supposed to cycle you through the different tabs you
have opened, but any of these keystrokes I just mentioned is not working
for
me here in IE 11; however, it did in previous versions.

Hello list,

This is something that I’ve been dealing with for a while now, but
hadn’t
gotten around to asking about it before.

When I’m in a browser, I sometimes find myself stuck between the
address
bar
and my favorites bar in IE for example. All the tabbing back and forth
doesn’t help to get me out of it and I eventually have to close the
browser
all together and relaunch to have access to the actual web content.
This
happens too where if I press the alt+n command to access the
information
bar. Again, in IE. I am using Jaws 15, but this also happened in
earlier
versions of Jaws. I haven’t’ had too much opportunity to play with the
new
JFW 16 beta so I don’t know if this is something that is less of an
issue
with the new release.

Does anyone else have to deal with this and if so, do they know how to
either fix it or at least make it so that they can get back to the
webpage?

Thanks,

Subject: Disabling Touch-pad on Microsoft Surface

I have a Microsoft Surface tablet with a keyboard. The keyboard includes a
standard mouse touch-pad. Does anyone know how to disable this less
drastically other than removing the mouse driver? I have looked on the
microsoft site and can't find anything. In the short term, I have somewhat
solved the problem by taping a used-up plastic Starbuck's card over the pad.
Any help is gratefully appreciated.

Help configuring Outlook 2010.

Michael Mote

Hi folks! I'm trying to help someone make the change from Windows Live mail
to Outlook 2010. Does anyone know how I can do this? I need to know how to
import my contacts into Outlook 2010. I'm also having an issue configuring
his gmail account. I'm using his settings from Windows Live mail, but no
luck.

Also, I'm wondering if there is a list of JAWS hot keys that are specific
for Outlook 2010?

Hello list,

This is something that I’ve been dealing with for a while now, but hadn’t
gotten around to asking about it before.

When I’m in a browser, I sometimes find myself stuck between the address
bar
and my favorites bar in IE for example. All the tabbing back and forth
doesn’t help to get me out of it and I eventually have to close the
browser
all together and relaunch to have access to the actual web content. This
happens too where if I press the alt+n command to access the information
bar. Again, in IE. I am using Jaws 15, but this also happened in earlier
versions of Jaws. I haven’t’ had too much opportunity to play with the new
JFW 16 beta so I don’t know if this is something that is less of an issue
with the new release.

Does anyone else have to deal with this and if so, do they know how to
either fix it or at least make it so that they can get back to the
webpage?

Thanks,

Same exact problem for me with my 32-bit Windows 7, IE 11 and JAWS 15. Very
irritating, and even trying to use the JAWS cursor doesn't break the
log-jam.

However if you have NVDA, I've had some success with launching that and
getting JAWS unstuck. Weird, I know, but better than dumping the whole web
site and starting over in some cases.

I also sure do hope JAWS 16 irons out some of this serious stuff.

Re: Disabling Touch-pad on Microsoft Surface

Marilyn Rushton <mrushton@...>

I am new to this list, and I think it's terrific!

I have a new Toshiba laptop with a numpad, so I can use JAWS just as I would
on a PC. The f5 key is a toggle which enables/disables the mouse, pretty
handy. And here's a funny: I sat down for a few hours with it last night
to do my first serious exploration with internet, etc. Sometimes JAWS would
suddenly stop talking, or the volume would change, or I'd be in a different
app.... Later on, my sighted husband suggested cleaning off a lot of the
junk that comes with any new computer, and when he got started, we found
that something called "gesture controls" was on. In short, if you move your
hands a certain way it will change apps, if you touch your lips it mutes, it
you touch another part of your face the volume changes, and on and on it
goes. Who knew! I'm still laughing!

Marilyn.

Hello Dianna,
Here are some suggestions I had in my notes.
Mouse Pad turn on and off
1. function key plus F7 for Acers, and Tosheba's have a special button above
the mouse pad.
2. control panel
turning the mouse pad on or off
is under the control panel, under "mouse". When you are in the mouse menus,
you will see various tabs starting from the left, but the one you want is
probably at the far right, named "device settings". Tab once and you are in
the list of mouse-type devices that the computer sees as available. In my
case, the mouse pad is the only device. Tab once again, and you are at the
toggle button to "enable" or "disable". After you press on that, click
"apply", then the okay or close button Cheers Kevin.

I've tried F6 and also Ctrl+F6, and neither of these will break out of that

Yes, speaking of the virtual cursor mode, I find that i often need to turn
it off/on to get out of some edit fields, as well. Almost as though virtual

Sometimes if you hit the f5 key or the insert escape it refreshes the screen
and you're back in virtual cursor mode and can continue browsing. Also you
can try turning off and on jaws virtual cursor by hitting the insert or
caps lock and the letter z
