Admin: List archives are up... now it's your turn!
James Homuth
Folks,
As of a few hours ago, the full list archives (as in, going back to 2011) are now on groups.io. This means we have well over 8000 individual and completely searchable topic threads. Now comes the fun part.
A few days ago I said I wanted to start putting together a sort of FAQ for the JAWS list. I also extended the offer to have folks from the community lend a little help with that. Effective immediately, the door for submissions is thrown wide open. If you're not sure what I'm looking for, shoot me an email and we'll sort it out. If you have any other questions, feel more than free to do the same. For more details on what I'm thinking: https://groups.io/g/jfw/thread/for_when_the_archives_are/203431

Re: Curious about how to do a JAWS uninstall and reinstall
David Moore
Hi,
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
When JAWS is not talking, you can use Narrator to do everything you have to do. Narrator works well in win10, and you can tab to the buttons with Narrator. Here is what I would do. When you uninstall JAWS, Press Windows key + enter. This will turn on Narrator. Now, go to where you have the JAWS download. You can do this perfectly with Narrator. Now, press enter on the right JAWS file. As soon as you do this, JAWS will start talking to you again to take you through the install. Then, just press windows key + enter to turn Narrator back off. It is a toggle. Windows key + enter turns it on, and the same command turns it off. Windows key + enter to turn on Narrator is everything. It actually works pretty good just to find something on your computer. Let me know how this goes. Have a great one.

Re: WLM message problem..
Gerald Levy
This “stuck” messages problem has happened to me a few times for no
apparent reason. I fixed this problem by focusing on the “stuck” messages
in the In Box, performed a Select All command (Control-A), and pressed the
Delete key to move the selected messages to the DeletedItems folder. I
then unloaded WLM and relaunched it, which seemed to fix the problem and restore
the In Box to normal. I could then go to the DeletedItems folder and
open and read the “stuck” messages.

There are some messages in my In Box that I cannot neither delete or
read.
I have tried many things to do both including the below.
1. First did a repair of WLM
2. tried going into the Applications menu for both and tried delete or open
and nothing.
3. Tried “enter or delete “ and nothing.
4. Went to script manager and did a compile..nothing
5. Went to Google, and not much more there than I have tried.
What you think of a complete uninstall of WLM andthen a install?
I also have tried shutting off the computer and re-starting.
Any help appreciated.

To get to internet explorer: 1.Type "Internet Explorer" in the Cortana/Search box. Saying "Hey Cortana, open Internet Explorer" isn't useful here. Note: you can also just press your windows key and type Internet Explorer. 2.Right click on "Internet Explorer" or use your applications key to: add as a tile on your Start Menu click "Pin to Start." add it on your taskbar simply click "Pin to taskbar."
Setting Internet Explorer or Firefox as your default browser in Windows 10.
Press your windows key. Arrow up to “Settings” and press enter. There will be a dialog (pop up) window. Tab until you hear “System. Display, notifications, apps, power”. Press Enter You will now hear the word “display”. Press down arrow until you hear “Default Apps” Press tab on “Default Apps” Now press tab until you hear “Web Browser” Press Enter. There will be another pop up window press tab until you hear the browser you want to be your default. Press enter on your selection. Press Alt F4 to close the window.
I hope this helps!
