Re: Responding to message problem hung over

Hi, It does seem to me that in the setup for Outlook there is a setting to
either leave or remove messages from the list after they have been opened.
I never thought of the "unread" message setting.

This is just a hunch, but it sounds to me like your Outlook is set to a view
that only shows unread messages. So after you reply to a message and it
closes, it disappears. I'm no Office 2010 expert, but check your view

Ted, If ever you want to hear of the bizarre happening regularly in an
otherwise normal situation just drop me a line. I've been using Control R
for fourteen years and the address of the person who sent me the message
always ended up in the address book if it wasn't there already. I have no

Re: Responding to message problem hung over

Kimber Gardner

Judith,

In order to reply to an open message try alt H then R then P. That
should place your cursor in the field where you can begin typing your
reply.

In order to check your settings. Press alt. Use the left and right
arrows to reach the file tab. Active this tab by pressing the
spacebar. Arrow up until you reach options then press enter. This will
place you in a list of categories which contain your settings for
various mail functions along with some other things you may not care
about at this point. Once you find the category you want to explore,
use the tab key to go through the settings for that category.

If you need more help let me know. I'm using Outlook 2013, but I don't
think the two versions are all that different.

Re: What new computer & operating System?

Brad Martin

I'd definitely say Windows 7. You can get it with Windows Live Mail and if you adjust the layout, it will feel kind of like Outlook Express. I think this list has rules against advertising specific products. Contact me off list at brad@... and let me know whether you want a laptop, flat desktop, or tower. I can make some specific recommendations of some systems that I've had proven success using. Also, do you have JAWS Professional or Standard? Happy to do it.

I am thinking of upgrading the computer and the Operating System so the we

What specs should the new computer have? What Operating System should we use

should we use?

Jon's problem is not only total blindness but also memory issues, such that
learning new things, and linking long strings of actions to arrive at the

things.

Any suggestion would really be appreciated.

I use a system at work that is based on a SalesForce platform. It's perfectly accessible, although I'm not thrilled with the SalesForce functionality itself. Please Help? Jaws Speaking Dashes In MSWord

Sirena <sieradream@...>

Hey guys.

Can anyone tell me why Jaws always speaks dashes in Microsoft word, even
when I have all punctuation set to none? It's difficult to read in Word when
every word with a dash in it is sliced in half by Jaws speaking the dash
itself.

Is this a fluke, or is there a setting I may have triggered by accident? I
even tried getting rid of the dashes in the dictionary manager with no luck.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I also discovered that if you are in the "to" field of a new message, you can shift tab once, and back up to the "contacts button". Does this give the user anything different than what you get to with the control 3 command?

Try control + 3 on the number row.
