Re: Extracting text from powerpoint presentation
Kirsten Edmondson <kirsten.edmondson@...>
If you open the powerpoint and then go to the save dialog box, tab to the
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
type/format box and arrow down you should be able to save it as an RTF doc which will give you all the text from all the slides in the right order. Before I discovered this I used to have to copy and paste the text out of the slides, but this is much quicker. I use 2007 so if that is what you have it definitely works.

safe mode
Dorothy <dorothy.ingram-gorban@...>
I have just read about safe mode on this list,I did not know security was
at risk if using it. I only use it under following circumstances, example for some reason my windows 7 laptop using ms outlook, seems to get stuck in a dialogue box, and I cannot escape, eventually i try closing down the machine a dell 64 bit,but it hangs,so I have to pressin button on tower for a while Later on reloading the machine complains it ms outlook was not treated well and says to work in safe mode to , it offers this option even though it assumes I am going to say No, that is get it right, whilst I hear it suggest safe mode jaws seems to want to choose the No option, eventually I run it in safe mode for a while then try to close it down. Are you saying if I tried to log onto web at any point I am putting my computer at risk,or is it at risk anytime in safe mode? Many thanks dorothy

Ann Byrne
The very best way is to use Jamal Mazrui's TextPal. The next best way is to f6 to outline view, select all, then copy and paste it to a new document.

Peter Holdstock <peterholdstock@...>
If you have an Iphone I can really recommend Remote Potato. It allows you to now only control your Media Centre but also watch all your Recorded TV and other media from your PC actually on your iphone anywhere in the world. Works amazingly well and the developer has bent over backwards to accommodate accessibility improvements which I've suggested. The app now plays the audio described tracks as well so I now have access to audio described TV recordings which is great. I've paired that up with an FM transmitter for my Iphone and now I have good sounding TV where ever there is a radio or I use headphones.

The MC Buddy, first converts the program you have recorded then removes the adds out. So you cant watch it add free strait away, you need to wait for the MC buddy to do its job. Normally only an hour or so after the program has been recorded. Hope this helps Best wishes. Yeh I'm using a satelite tuner card so I use my old sky satelite dish to pick up Freesat channels. I'm using a Black Gold internal card. I don't really know much about TV cards but as far as I'm aware most if not all tv cards support media centre.
