Subject: Is this a genuine bug I raise this as something I consider to be a bug. I admit, however, that others may think that the below-described behavior is appropriate and useful. I cannot see how, but I admit my limited perspective. I cannot say this happens all the time, but it happens often enough that I think it is a pattern in all tables of check boxes. Since what I'm describing is a fairly common function, especially in Webmail applications, I'm hoping someone can confirm or refute my observations. Perhaps the problem just appears in the particular Web applications I use. Here is the problem: In a number of applications a Website will display a list of items from which the user may make selections. I find this is usually implemented through a table. Let's use webmail as a common example. In this table, one will find, in each row of the table, a checkbox in the first cell, a "from" field in the next cell, the subject in the next cell, and a "date" field in the next cell. As I said, this pattern repeats through each row of the table. One can, by checking the check boxes, identify, for example, the useless email that one wants to delete, leaving the good stuff to review. So, one can go down through the check boxes, checking the ones for deletion and skipping the others. This works fine after the second check box has been checked. It is Jaws's immediate behavior after the first check box has been checked that is at issue. Jaws, instead of leaving the virtual cursor in the cell with the check box that has just been checked, jumps out of the table entirely. One has to navigate back to the check box that has just been checked to continue this checking process. Once the second check box has been checked, Jaws is smart enough to stay put after checking the second check box. It is just the first check box that throws Jaws out of the table. I'm happy to report this to Freedom Scientific as a bug, but first I'd like to know if others experience this in their Web applications and, perhaps more importantly, if others see the behavior I've described as problematic. If it is desirable in some situations, I'm happy to remain silent. Sent from my Yoga IdeaPad I. The only thing I can ever recall changing is the layout mode (found

under Web/HTML/PDFs -> Navigation-> Document Presentation Mode in settings center), to make sure it is set to screen instead of simple. But that may well be the default now. Is there some particular problem you are having with Firefox? Because for the most part it works extremely well for me.

Thanks and yes I have been receiving Anett’s updates. Last I heard he was awake. I have not heard any more then that. I hope and pray he’ll be ok. But, as a former fire fighter and as someone who has worked in the healthcare field I know all too well that it takes so long to find any definitive information as to lasting damage fro the fractures. My guess is that car had to be moving to give him three fractures of the scoll. My other question wich may seem immaterial at this time is did they speak to the driver of the car? As for Gayla it may be best at least she won’t suffer though the pain. Does Auzmand know about her yet? How have you been doing? I think the web site developers at Amazon stay up nights trying to think up new web site controls to frustrate screen reader users. Every other site I have dealt with used a combo box to pick the month and year, and so did Amazon until now. They changed to Menu Buttons on the add credit card page. They still have combo boxes on other pages though. What I got when I activated the Menu Button for the month while in Virtual Cursor Mode was a list of links corresponding to the months of the year. No matter how I tried to activate the correct link, and I tried them all, the Menu Button still displayed the same month. As a last resort, I turned off Virtual Cursor Mode with JAWS Key z and activated the Button Menu again. This time I got my months in a list box. I selected the correct month, pressed Enter and was relieved to see that the correct month was now displayed in the Menu Button. I then reactivated Virtual Cursor Mode with JAWS Key z and finished the process without difficulty. Hope this method works for you. By the way, I'm still using the last build of JAWS 14. I was wondering if JAWS 15 would have done better. Guess not! Gary King w4wkz@bellsouth.net

I'm using JAWS 14 as well. I do sometimes use the site for screen readers and mobile users, and it works pretty well. I just don't see a straightforward way to add a credit card on that site. I did take a look at One Click Settings on the site, and you can add a card there, and they even still have a combo box for selecting month and year. I don't use One Click Ordering, but maybe if I added a card there, it would still show up for me to choose in my regular orders. Since I was able to add a card by the method I gave in a previous post, I won't try the One Click approach. Gary King w4wkz@bellsouth.net
