Andre... I just had a similar problem. It was using IE 11. I then tried the
same with Fire Fox and it worked. Have no idea why.

I am having a problem with outlook express. I am running windows XP, jaws 10, and MS Office 2007. When I receive a message that has links in the message and I want to open the link of the message it locks up Outlook express. I ten have to close the program and sometimes restart the computer. The only way I can use the links in a message is to copy the link and then paste it when I open Internet explorer. I would appriciate any help with this problem.

I did notice that when I activate the combo box the first thing spoken is the word edit, as if I was still in the edit box. However the next thing I heard was the name of the combo box. It's as if jaws was catching up with itself.

Anyway, here is the problem:

When in IE, if I press Jaws Key plus F-5 I should get a list of
form fields in a kind of dialog box. Using first letter
navigation, I can hit the field I'm looking for right away. If I
hit enter on the name of that field in the Jaws-created dialog
box, I should be taken to that form field. In Jaws 14, that
seemed to work without flaw. In Jaws 15 it too seems to work
when, at the time of pressing Jaws key plus F-5, one is sitting on
a radio button, a check box, or a combo box. If, however, one is
sitting on an edit field, it doesn't work. The dialog box
appears, and I can navigate to the desired name in that dialog
box, but when I activate it (by hitting ENTER or hitting tab and
space bar) the dialog box disappears, and I'm left in the same
edit field as when I pressed the form field command (Jaws key plus
F-5).

That, therefore, makes the exercise useless. The obvious
work-around is simply to make sure I'm not on an edit field when I
press Jaws Key plus F-5. That, however, as I hope you agree, is
less than elegant. <SMILE>

Sounds like you lost them. If on a thumb drive, and deleted, they are
usually not put in a recycle bin.

If you find a recycle folder on your thumb drive, open it and hit enter on
the file to see if your lost settings are there.

The easiest way might be to put the CD in the drive, open the disk, and look
at the dates the files were created. The disk with the datesr closest to now
is the disc that you want.

Another option is to forget the discs altogether, use NVDA or narrator is a
screenreader so that you can browse the web, go to the freedom scientific
website, download the latest version of jaws.

A Genuine Bug

Ed Marquette <marquette.ed@...>

Before I submit the following to Freedom Scientific, I thought I
would confirm, with this esteemed group, what I think, at least,
is a bug in JAWS 15.

I've been genuinely satisfied with JAWS 15, and it has a couple of
advantages over JAWS 14 that are particularly useful to me.

Here, however, is the problem, though I admit it is not a big
one.

I have confirmed this in both Windows 8 and Windows 7. I have
found this in at least the last 3 versions of Internet Explorer.
Not sure if it exists in FireFox. I rarely use FireFox because I
need to use a document management system that only half works in
FireFox.

<SMILE>

Andre... I just had a similar problem. It was using IE 11. I then tried the same with Fire Fox and it worked. Have no idea why.

No luck. It looks like a sighted person may be needed. That's the only
thing I can think of.
Thanks.

When you rout your JAWS cursor to the PC cursor instead of pressing the
enter key, press the slash key above the number 8 on the NumPad twice
quickly. This is aquivilent to a left mouse click.

Hi Andre... have had this problem. When using JAWS cursor, move the JAWS
cursor to where it says to click...Then route PC to Jaws. Sometimes, I need

to return to PC cursor before it works. Good Luck... It can be frustrating

I have downloaded a study guide. I can click yes to begin the install
process. However I cannot click the accept privacy notice.

I can't see it with the PC cursor but can see it with the JAWS cursor .
Dose anyone know how to get the JAWS key to click on 'yes'? Hitting enter
does nothing.

Thanks,

Andre

Try pressing the slash on the number pad. It's directly to the right of the
num lock key.

Raymond... Off hand I can't remember that keystroke but I think you can find
it in JAWS keystroke help. As for a list of keystrokes, open Excel, hit F1
which brings you to microsoft's Excel help page and search for "shortcut
keystrokes."
