When you rout your JAWS cursor to the PC cursor instead of pressing the enter key, press the slash key above the number 8 on the NumPad twice quickly. This is aquivilent to a left mouse click.

There are 2 ways to access the outlook contacts.
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
The first way is, Ctrl+shift+b=book, This will land you on an search edit field, So you could type in a contact's name to search, Or, you could tab once to get into the list of contacts, Now use your arrow keys, If you would want to send a message to a particular contact while you're inside the contacts, Just arrow to the contacts name/email, Now press ctrl+n=new message, Note, the person's information, is already placed into the to field, thus, you land on the subject, If you tab, you're placed into the body of the message. The second way to access you're contacts, Ctrl+#3 on the numbers row, You land inside the contacts, Tab once to the edit field, type a contacts name, Shift+tab, the name should be their. Adding contact; Here's a couple ways you can do this. The first way, is, Press ctrl+shift+c This will place you on a screen where you can add a contact, Use the tab key to access the criteria, Once you've completed filling in the various fields, Press escape key, and say yes to save. The second way is, 1, open a message from the person whom you wish to add/reply to, 2, now shift+tab until you hear; From: the person's name and email address; Move your left arrow to highlight the name/email 3, press the applications key, Up arrow and enter on, Add to outlook contacts, Note, your now being placed into a screen with all the information, Name, email address, Etc. Re: Mozilla Firefox
Lisle, Ted (CHFS DMS)
Speaking of browsers, I've been flirting with the idea of trying Chrome with my Juno account, instead of IE10. I've had a lot of trouble with that account since setting up my new machine late last year; connections just aren't stable. I've read the reports on this list about Chrome and JAWS, but thought it might not make a lot of difference since, with Juno, the underlying browser is just a foundation; the interface the user sees is all Juno. Experiences I had at work a couple of years ago taught me the browser can make a big difference in Internet stability.

Jaws 15 and winamp
Jim L
Heya folks,
Am having issues with Jaws 15 and the latest and last version of winamp but this issues a problem on earlier versions of winamp as well and Jaws15 where accessing the media library to burn a CD is such a pain, for example pressing the rip button in media library for some stupid reason starts playing the CD and then of course it can't rip the CD cause its playing, even using the Jaws cursor has issues with pressing any of the media library buttons. I added the old win scripts that were made for Jaws 7 they help alittle but not much Is anyone having this problem? And is there a fix? Cheers, Jim

Re: avast internet security
Jacob
If you're connected to net via router you have a firewall there. There is a firewall in Windows too. The Security Essentials from MS works well with screen readers. If you.re just single user you got what you need there. The paid versions maybe give you some extra features but the virus definitions is the same. If you don't plan to use the software in a company on a server based network then the free software will give you what you need. How much security do you need? No antivirus software is the best. Some is better than others but there is no guarantee even you pay or not.

Re: Mozilla Firefox
Brad Martin
Ah, mine hasn't updated yet. I'm still running 27.01. It's working well, so I haven't made any changes in the past month or so. Honestly, for the most part I have better luck with it and JAWS than with Internet Explorer 11, and we're finding it works better with www.uwfreetaxes.org than IE11 for sure.
