Hi,

Speaking of strange things, I have 2 HP laptop/notebook computers. Both are running W7 64 bit and JAWS 14 works fairly well on both. Now, I won a copy of Magic 12 complete with the Magic large print keyboard at a FS seminar. I installed Magic on the older HP and all went well. I installed it on the newer HP and, oops, it abended and would not run. FS and I worked on the problem for some time and they did some tandom sessions and discovered a hidden bug in Magic 12 which the newer HP spotted right away. They did get the problem solved so I thought I would plug n the keyboard. Oops, wrong move, the newer HP flat did not like that keyboard but I have not taken the problem to FS asyet, want to give them time to recover from the last mess. (LOLLOLLOL) That blamed hardware sure can vary even among the same brand of computer. Cy

JAWS and MyiLibrary
Cynthia Bruce
Hello Everyone,
I am wondering if anyone has used MyiLibrary and might have some tips on how to actually read a book? I am using JAWS 14, and I have tried this with both internet explorer and firefox with no luck. I just can't seem to figure out how to actually access the text of the book. When I click on TOK or next page or section, nothing happens. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cynthia

It's fascinating how hardware or BIOS-specific some of this stuff appears to be. I've mentioned before that alternate say-all does not work on my office Dell. Someone mentioned a few days ago, that Kaspersky paralyzed his PC, while I had a similar experience with Ms Essentials, a program for which many on this list have nothing but praise--just a thought.

Subject: RE: JAWS 15 Beta Christobal, My question to you is this. I know you can reproduce this issue 100% of the time. Are you running JFW in a different language? Are you in the US? And, how old/new is your computer? Could you give us some more detailed info so others might see if this effects them in the same way it does you? Subject: Re: JAWS 15 Beta What did FS say about this? ----- Original Message ----- From: Cristóbal To: 'The Jaws for Windows support list.' Sent: Sunday, October 20, 2013 10:20 PM Subject: RE: JAWS 15 Beta The first beta other than a problematic installation that FS helped me resolve was surprisingly good. Not too many bugs. The second and third beta releases however are a different story. With these last two updates, my internet speed with JFW 15 becomes painfully slow. Also, when switching from email inbox to email inbox (imap) in Outlook 2010, my Outlook will hang and more often than not crash outright. The internet speed thing threw me for a few days since at first I thought my system was infected with something. I tried everything from resetting network this and that, changing this and that setting. And finally system restore. The system restore did the trick since it was before I did the 15 update and after that is when I notice that with JFW 14, my download speeds were as they always were (anywhere between 120 kb to 800 kb) and after loading JFW 15, I was only getting 5 kb to maybe 60 kb. That and the Outlook crashing. I can unload and load these two different versions and reproduce this behavior every time. These are two quite significant issues to the point where I don't even bother running JFW 15 anymore. I have no clue if others may in fact be experiencing these issues. I have submitted bug reports with all my contact information should the testing department wish to contact me, but as of now, that hasn't been the case. I kind of hope that others are dealing with these problems so that maybe they'll get addressed before the final roll out. As nothing really changed from the second beta cycle to the third, I'm not so sure. This would of course be a major bummer.... It's frustrating since everything else seems to work well including the new voices, but those two problems make it incredibly hard to nearly impracticle to work with JFW 15 on my system anyway. -----Original Message----- From: Jfw [mailto:jfw-bounces@...] On Behalf Of Dave "Farfar" Carlson Sent: Sunday, October 20, 2013 6:37 PM To: The Jaws for Windows support list.
