Transferring Alt Control J shortcut from Jaws 11 to Jaws 12
Tom Behler
Hi, again.
I just thought of one more question here. What is the best way to transfer the Alt Control J shortcut to Jaws 12 from Jaws 11, when doing the upgrade process? I seem to recall having a problem with this once before in earlier upgrades, and can't remember how to resolve it. All I remember is that I had great difficulty transferring the shortcut over to the new version of Jaws from the earlier version. I would have thought that the "merge utilities" function would have taken care of this, but it didn't in my earlier upgrade efforts. Thanks for putting up with all my questions lately. Tom in Michigan

one more Jaws Activation question
Tom Behler
Hello again, everyone.
I successfully convinced the folks at FS to re-set my activation count back to 3, so it looks like I am now all set in that regard. However, I have one more question about the activation process: If I upgrade from Jaws 11 to Jaws 12 on a computer that already has Jaws 11, does the upgrade count against my number of available activations? In other words, each time I upgrade from Jaws 11 to 12, do I loose an activation? Thanks! Tom in Michigan

Another thing you can try in this situation is invoking the keystroke, Jaws Key + Z. This toggles the virtual cursor key between off & auto. This is only a suggestion. I am not sure if this will help, but is worth a try. Take care. Mike

I am really sorry, but I don't have a clue! You can try Keyboard Help, Jaws Key + 1, on the number row, & play around with keystrokes to try & find it or, wait until someone comes along with the correct keystroke. Take care. Mike

Hi Kim,

Application mode is invoked by JAWS because the page is coded as an application. This is done through HTML codes. Pressing numpad plus brings you back to virtual mode and makes the page readable. Hope this helps. Take care. Mike

Hi All, On many pages using Jaws 10 and XP Pro, I'm running into the "app mode on" message from Jaws. This is happening particularly with PayPal and on my Wordpress site dashboard when editing content there. When I run into this issue, it's pretty much impossible to access a page and issue any commands, enter any text, etc. Is there any way to keep "app mode" from appearing, even temporarily. I desperately need to get these website pages edited, and this is giving me a real headache. Any tips, suggestions or fixes would be tremendously appreciated! Many thanks in advance!
