Good day Listers.
I have Jaws 14 and Windows 7 64 bit, and am wondering if anyone had any comments or recommendations regarding which Open Book / camera / scanner type systems , would work best with this equipment. Thank you for any advice and assistance. Kevin Hourigan. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Re: saved download
Harris, Robert <harris.robert@...>
You mean cut and paste or make a copy? OK I do open files and try the save as. The problem is I can't say e:bobbyday for example because E: is an invalid entry. I try to save and tab across to folders and get a "hide folders" and can not go to -- Example Bobby and prince (the name of one of my many flash drives) without a lot of guess work.

When people are at my door or on the phone or what ever I'm trying to find the easy way to not lose files in a c: MAZE. Thanks again Bobby and Prince

Instead, why not press the Windows button from the desktop to open the search edit field, then type: downloads and press enter See if that brings up the folder where your downloads are located. Re: saved download
Ann Byrne
Often insert+tab will read the current line, even if arrowing doesn't do it. Or just type in the location you want. e:\something.something will get it there.

FS should have installed it as an icon on your desktop. Press F1 for help, click on any topic of interest, and you'll hear the natural speech rendering of the text. Before pressing F1, I noticed that I could tab between two options, verbalized as "Read only" and "Tree view." I have nothing under tree view, presumably because I haven't installed any training materials onto this relatively new system, but I assume that any training program you download from FS will appear here. -----Original Message----- From: Jfw [mailto:jfw-bounces@lists.the-jdh.com] On Behalf Of Harris, Robert Sent: Friday, September 13, 2013 2:22 PM To: The Jaws for Windows support list. When yu go through folders JAWS seems to read nothing and trying to guess where your saving stuff to don't work because it saves it in a least expected area and even the search function won't find the document or download at times. Is there a way to set a default or change one easily in Jaws 14.4004 Window 7? Bobby and Prince

Re: saved download
Ann Byrne
It should be in

c:\users\computer name\downloads. If your computer is named Judy, it would be in c:\users\judy\downloads. One way to find a file with windows 7 is 1. Press windows key+e (computer) 2. Press control+f (find) 3. type enough of the name to identify the file and press enter 4. tab three times to the list of results. 5. Read with insert+up arrow to hear information, including the location of the file. good luck!

Re: saved download
Ann Byrne
Instead of hitting enter on the download link, use the applications menu and arrow down to 'save target as'. There you can specify the file name and the location to save to.
