Alt-tab malfunctions when certain actions are taken on my Windows 7 laptop

Redmond, Gary (G.W.) <gredmon2@...>

Hello list,
It seems like when I go to the internet using IE8 my 'alt-tab' functions keys go crazy - i.e. they allow one tab and then stop. Then I need to go to Ins-f10 to get an application list to get to the application I want to go to like Outlook. Prior to starting up IE8 the alt-tab function works 100%.

Is it just me and my specific laptop (Dell ) or is this a known problem ?
Thanks
Gary

Dave...

Cy, I agree with you. W7 is a good Op Sys and even though my studio computer
still has XP, I have no problems at all with W7 once I spent time learning
how it's different from XP.

OK well here's a good example of something I'm a little stuck on. I'm
trying to find the normal template for ms word 2010 to edit it. I'm using a
32-bit version of office on my 64-bit windows machine.

Actually W7 is not all that bad, just a bit different.
It does do some things which are really neat such as automatically loading
the drivers for whatever you plug into your computer.
Most of the hot keys from XP still work fine.

The new windows does take longer. All the shortcuts we had in XP like
instant access to documents is gone. The tool bar doesn't exist through alt
t. I'm still trying to figure out where it is. Oh well, they call it
progress. Judith

Re: Removing "suggested sites" from the tool bar

I'm not sure if this will work, but find the icon you want to get rid
of. Don't click on it, instead press the application key and arrow
down the choices. One of them may be unpin from toolbar.

I hope this helps.

If it's anything like IE 8 then Tools/Options and look on the General page

Hi,

I keep getting items on my IE10 tool bar that I don't want. One is labeled
something like "suggested sites". Also, I often have another item for
going
to Facebook (my home page). I can delete these from the tool bar easily
enough but would prefer that they not show up again.

Thanks

Hi Kayla,
here are some guides. This first is for file explorer, what used to be called windows explorer:

The second is for the taskbar, which includes the taskbar buttons and the notification area:

And the third is for the start screen:

Hi all,
I recently purchased a windows 8 computer along with ms office 13 and
JAWS 14. As someone who has used xp and ms office 2007 for the last
several years, Windows 8 is a lot different. I have attempted to
google search tips on how to use windows 8 with JAWS 14, but so far I
haven’t found anything particularly helpful. If anyone knows of any
resources detailing how to use JAWS, MS office 13, and windows 8
effectively that they could pass along I’d really appreciate it!
Thanks, Kayla

Hi everyone, I have not used outlook for many years and I just started using
outlook 2010 recently. Do any of you have a good list of helpful shortcuts
that you can send to me? I looked at JAWS help and there aren't too many
shortcuts in JAWS help.
