Hi Mike,

It's been a while since I've tried this, and, I'm on my Mac right now so
can't test, but try going to the file you wish to drag, route the Jaws
cursor to the PC cursor, turn the PC cursor back on, and then move to where
you wish to drag the file, and perform the keystroke to drop.

Jaws and ITunes

Cliff Self

I'm trying to create an Apple account at the IStore and can't get my Jaws 12 to let me fill out the form. First, it doesn't automatically drop into forms mode, I have to do that manually. then when I try to type in a field it says, "Feature only available in virtual document." I then attempted to virtualize the page with insert alt W, and it simply says, "no text." Any suggestions?

Edit fields in ITunes

How do I make Jaws drop into edit mode in ITunes? Normally, I press E to navigate to the field, and Jaws knows what to do from there.

your item, insert-up arrow will read it's location.

jaws problem

Hi all, I remember writing another computer list about a similar problem. I forgot what they told me to try but, it didn't work. Anyway, I have jaws in sleep mode for games like kitchensinc monopoly. Anyway, if I have to alt tab to another window for something then alt tab back, that's when sometimes before the sapi voice gets done talking for my turn, jaws will come up and, say, kitchensinc monopoly.

I didn't read your message carefully enough. On re-reading, I see you do provide the solution, which is to press F12, then tab to the field with the name of the folder. Thanks. (I’m kicking myself for not figuring out the solution for myself.)

Hi,

Sometime I open Save as dialog (f12 in MS word) and tab to Save in field to see where that file is saved.

In Windows 8 i can press Application on the file and there is option “open file location”. Maybe there is something similar in your Windows too.

Thanks. Unfortunately, F12 does not give me the folder info. And I'm unaware of a similar button in Win7 to the one you have in Win8.

I wonder if there's a JAWS or other setting that would enable F12 (save as" to provide folder info. I have set this setting in Windows Explorer.

Re: Locating the folder where an MS word document is stored

Artur Räpp

Hi,

Sometime I open Save as dialog (f12 in MS word) and tab to Save in field to see where that file is saved.

In Windows 8 i can press Application on the file and there is option “open file location”. Maybe there is something similar in your Windows too.

I organize my Word files into many folders. Today I couldn't recall where I'd stored a particular file, so I searched for it with the Win7 start field. It came up, and I was able to open it. However, I couldn't determine its location, at the start menu or during Word's process of saving it.

Any suggestions?
