Re: ReadIRIS version 12
Lisle, Ted (CHFS DMS)
It's probably not a demo. My copy came on a disk that contained all the printer software, and accessing the OCR has been a real pain. 'the good news is that it worked the only time I ever used it a couple of years ago. The bad news is it's almost impossible to activate, as my copy buried itself somewhere in HP Solutions, and it can't be called up separately from the keyboard. I'd like to get together with you off list and cuss and discuss this package.

Just wondering if anyone has used this OCR software and how it might work with JAWS 13? I found a very old online manual for version 6 from 2000 online, but that's of limited value since it is very much out of date. I do have an older version of Kurzweil, and the Hp scanning functions work very nicely with it. But just curious about ReadIRIS. Hello. You can also hold down the windows key and alt. while pressing down arrow, this way Jaws will read each row completely, regardless the number of columnss.
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
If you wish to read more than once a given row, press windows key and comma simultaneusly as many times you want to reread that complete row. I hope it makes some sense. I apologize for my English. --- El vie, 2/22/13, john.falter <john.falter@verizon.net> escribió: De: john.falter <john.falter@verizon.net> Asunto: Re: pdf files with two columns A: "The Jaws for Windows support list." <jfw@lists.the-jdh.com> Fecha: viernes, 22 de febrero de 2013, 08:09 pm If you're allowed to copy and paste the material, copy to clipboard the info, paste it to a word processor that handles columns. Is this a paper for a school, and do you have any DSS resources on campus that could help you with this. I'm only asking because when I was in college, I graduated last year, I had this same problem and had the DSS staff help me out. I had a number of text resources that needed to be translated so I could read them and I knew it would take hours and hours to translate them myself. Just a suggestion.

some navigation quick keys not working in Word
Cynthia Bruce
Hi All,
Using JAWS 14 and MSW 2007, I am finding all of a sudden that the quick keys for actions such as selecting text between a marked place and the current place in text is not working. Since I downloaded JAWS 14, these things seem to be working intermittently, and even though I have the keyboard settings set to laptop, that particular command only seems to work with the caps lock key, not the insert key. Anyone know how I can fix this? Cynthia
