Yeah, the Kindle and JAWS don't play all that well together. Amazon
has designed it to work as with its own voicing. Below is the link to
the list of keyboard commands to use with the accessible kindle for pc.
JAWS will, however, read all the menus; alt f, predictably, will take
you to the file menu, for instance.
When I open kindle I often go to the library, by hitting alt G to get
to the "go" menu and then arrowing down to library.
Now JAWS will read the titles in your library. Entering will select
that title, and Control R will begin reading.
Use the Go menu again to move to table of contents, last position
read, or to search for a page number.

On the whole though, JAWS and Kindle are pretty clunky together.

Thanks Asrian.
When I press the insert plus spacebar, I hear a double click (the clicks are

of lower then higher pitch). After that, neither s nor any other key does
anything. I am back to whatever screen I started from.

I suppose this is a script of some kind and if I knew anything about
scripts, I might look into it further.

I can't help you with your problem but can give you a headsup and some
advice. Don't bother with windows messanger rather switch to sending
messages in skype. The reason I say this is because windows will be
discontinueing windows messanger and from the 15th of March it will
stop working because they want people to rather use skype.

read that item when the JAWS-Key plus 8 combination is pressed. Continue
with the down-arrow key and the JAWS-Key combination as described.

Hi, yes its no longer in quick settings, you can either each time you
launch the app, press insert plus space, then s, and do the same thing
when you exit, but the better way is to go to settings centre, then go
to misilanious options, and then to sleep moad, press space til it
says, enable and unload the synthesizer. Then press enter, of corse
make sure that the application file for that eclips is selected in
settings centre.
