Yes, I would have thought so, but the default is "Refresh as Necessary" and it may be that updating the charge field in Dhavesh's page does not trigger a refresh of the page. So of the other two choices -- Never and Every 60 seconds -- I think the latter would be appropriate. Well, for me DOS refers to the operating system that IBM introduced with its System 360 line of mainframe computers in the late 1960's. I worked with IBM DOS for years. Shows you how far back I go.

DOS is "Disk Operating System". It comes from the old days of Apple 2+ or earlier. On a PC, it used to be the operating system before Windows took over. You can emulate a DOS session in Windows by typing CMD in the run command line. The infamous C:\> prompt used to be something we all saw during our computer sessions. In any case, DOS is rarely used these days, except in special circumstances as originally posted. Re: JAWS for DOS
Lisle, Ted (CHFS DMS)
You may be right about NT, I can't remember now; but I know XP is NT with a face lift, and I haven't ever run ASAP under that. Of course, I don't have a working floppy drive installed in my current machine, but there once was a box under advance settings that allowed you to run a DOS screenreader, and that box is long gone. There aren't many files around today that fit on one of those little guys, but sometimes I miss them.

Wel, when I used CCleaner, I went in the registry cleaner and pressed

on fix issues and the more often I did that to speed things up, the more damage my system got. So maybe I am only suppose then to use it when I have a huge problem or slow down. Once it completely deleted all my SAPI voices and even I couldn't open speech in control panel. Weerd. But there are advantages when you really have a problem or just alot of errirs or a slow system. But you should be carefull with it, it could be harmfull if you don't use it wel and no what you doing.

I never used that product, because I never figured out if you were supposed to check the boxes you wanted rid of, or the ones you wanted to keep. A miscalculation like that was something I didn't want to risk. I use to use the one that came with Norton Utilities under 98. It worked fine until one day when it didn't; what a mess! Re: antivirus and Jaws relationship

Okay, I guess that was it then. That's a relief, because I've been a tad concerned ever since it totally locked my keyboard. Avira now works after a fashion, but I am going to tweak a little more before I try another update. Every now and then I miss DOS.

Okay, thanks; that doesn't sound too risky. I might try it again somewhere down the line.

You check the boxes of the ones you want the registry cleaner to monitor. If the cleaner monitors those items and they appear to be invalid or unused, it will delete them. Thank you.
