I believe its pretty safe to install. I don't think anything would
happen. It shouldn't affect Jaws in a negative way.

If you want the web client I think it's easychirp.com now. If you want
an application for windows I've heard that tween is pretty good. a lot
of my friends use it. The qube or twitmonger apps are great too. (I've
used both. On my Iphone I have tweetlist, and twitterrific, and the
official twitter app) I haven't used the twitter app in a while, but
tweetlist and twitterrific work great.

Hi Jean,

I just tried Twitter on my iPhone, because, as I said, I don't use it a lot,
and wanted to verify that it is accessible. I was able to read tweets,
reply to tweets, and post a new tweet without too much trouble. I am also
able to browse by category and follow people I find that look interesting.
Along the bottom of the Twitter window you'll find a number of tabs that
allow you to look just at your own tweets, browse for new people to follow,
go to your "Home" page, etc. Just touch at the bottom of the screen, and
then swipe left or right to navigate the various tabs.

Which iPhone do you have? I have an iPhone 4S running IOS 6.

I'd better end this thread now before George asks what all this has to do
with Jaws! LOL

I will check out the accessible site as well. I'm not good at memorizing
tons of keystroke commands for a program I may only use occasionally.
That's
my only beef with The Qube so far. Thanks for recommending the native
Twitter client on the iPhone. I had heard that it wasn't very easy to use,

but that may have changed. I'm still just trying to get my hear around the

whole Twitter thing, so thanks for your tips.

Hi Jean,

I used Twitter a lot a few years ago, but, not so much lately. When I do

use it, I usually access it through a program called Syrinx on my iMac.

On Windows, with Jaws, I use the accessible twitter site at...

http://www.accessibletwitter.com

When you sign into your Twitter account on the accessible twitter site,
you
will be asked to allow Easy Chirp to access your Twitter account. Choose
to
allow this, and you'll be set to go.

If memory serves, the main Twitter site wasn't all that bad with Jaws
either.

On my iPhone I use "Twitter", which, I think is integrated into IOS 6.

Hope this helps.

accessible interface to use with Jaws 13? Is the site itself accessible
for the account account and twitter posts, or is a third party app used?

Also, for those using iPhones, what is a good app nowadays that works
well
with voiceover?

Thanks for any tips getting started.

hello there;
well, I'm not really sure if you need 4 versions of jaws on your new dell
computer.
also, yes you can use windows mail, with a registry tweak,
however, if you have access to MSOffice,
I would most likely choose to use outlook with email.
with a few changes in the view menu, outlook will work just fine.

Subject: new Dell laptop and several versions of Jaws

HI,
Last week I ordered a new Dell Latitude E5430 laptop, 64 bit, Windows 7
professional and MS small business version 2010.
I am currently using Jaws 11 and will be upgrading to Jaws 14. I have
noticed over the years that some of the versions of Jaws will work better
with some applications that I use than other versions of Jaws.
On my current Latitude I have Jaws versions 7 through 11 installed.

On my new machine, I want to install Jaws 11 through 14. Is there a certain
seaquence that I should use when installing? For example, should I install
the older version first or the newer version first working back to version
11.

I understand that there is no Outlook Express on Windows 7. What is the
best email program to use with Jaws. I don't mind using Outlook if Jaws 14
will cooperate with the program.

Thanks for the help, David.

Hi,

I know it is possible to run Windows using a program called Parallels
on the Mac - my wife has it working on her Imac - she is sighted
though so doesn't have to worry about Jaws.

What is the best way to set things up in order to be able to use
Jaws/Windows on a Macbook Pro? Should I use Parallels or best to
setup a dual boot system?

If best to go dual boot what is the software to set that up?

It would be Windows 7 64 bit that would be setting up and I'm licensed
for Jaws14.

Thanks,

Dale.

However it is playing up with the virtual cursor and IE9 and Outlook

Aidan,

I think Cy was just opining that using a fine machine like a MAC to run
Windows is a foolish waste of money. Just buy a PC for less and run
Windows.

Otherwise, having the option to run either Windows or the Apple IOS is a
convenience that you're just willing to pay for.

It would be Windows 7 64 bit that would be setting up and I'm licensed
for Jaws14.

Thanks,

Dale.

Malcolm,

WE need to make sure whether you're talking about Windows Live mail, or
Windows Mail.

WLM is quite different from WM, and WM is much more similar to Outlook
Express.

Which are you having trouble with?

Farfar,
Thanks for the information. Windows Mail is driving me crazy because JAWS
is reading some absolute garbage, sounding like html code or something from
a medieval spell. Insert down arrow only reads this junk over and over
again in a new message. I must down arrow by itself a line or so before I
am able to read words with control arrow right or left. In responses, I
hear some junk like edit edit edit but insert down arrow will read after
arrowing past the first line. Have you any suggestions? Again, I'm running
Vista and JFW 13.1 upgraded.
Regards,
Malcolm

Malcolm,

Depends on what applications you plan to run on your W7 machine. I'm
finding
out that Office 2007 crashes a lot on W7 with JAWS 13 or 14, but is very
stable with JAWS 11. So the Operating system may not be the issue for me,
but if you plan to have Office 2007 keep your old copy of JAWS 11 handy.

Hello from Austin!
From what I gather here on this list, I won't be able to upgrade to JFW 14
now anyway. A far more tech savvy person than me suggested that I upgrade
from Vista to Windows Seven. She said that both JFW 13 and 14 would work
better with Windows 7 because its more stable. Do our list experts agree
and know what the upgrade will cost?

Hello from Austin,
I'm authorized to download JFW 14, but its not working. Perhaps I should
wait, but FS tech support told me that I lack service pack two, and
that's
preventing 14 to latch onto something it needs to work properly. Should
I

Have just found where the video intercept manager hangs out in the

Why would this be? Any ideas how to fix this because Jaws 14 is just
not
reading things properly.

When go back to Jaws13 it will read things though.

I have just uninstalled the hotfix and gone back to:

J14.0.918-64bit.exe

However it is playing up with the virtual cursor and IE9 and Outlook
2010.

It just says blank page in IE and won't read emails either.

Has perhaps the video intercept got corrupted but I can't find where you
fix
that? Where do I go?

I am on a Windows 7 64 bit machine.

Thanks,

Hi, I would do a boot camp myself as this gives you the full advantage
of all memory and processer ! Boot camp I think only supports w7 now.

Subject: Running Jaws / Windows on a Macbook Pro

It would be Windows 7 64 bit that would be setting up and I'm licensed
for Jaws14.

Thanks,

Dale.
