Re: output issue with command prompt style programs

James Homuth

I'm just curious, but have you given maximizing the command line window a try. I see that a lot when the window isn't actually sitting where it's supposed to be and so parts of the desktop are visible. Usually that can be confirmed by making use of the JAWS cursor. On this end, maximizing the window fixes that.

Re: Anyone interested in selling?

Dave...

Bobby,

"Extra old versions?" That's not a realistic expectation. They would never
want to support it, and why would FS sell an old version when new ones at a
full price are readily available? Sorry for my skepticism, but I don't
visualize a box of old CDs laying around FS just waiting for a sale
opportunity.

Best is the rehabilitation or educational access route.

Gery,

Contact FS or your dealer. Around $40 to $50. I think you only get one. You
don't need any more than that. It is linked to your JAWS serial number.

Hello Lauren,
Either open the PDF file from Kurzweil, or while in Adobe with the PDF open, go to the print option under file, and choose the Kurzweil virtual printer. Using either approach, Kurzweil will perform optical character recognition on the images in the PDF file.
Best,

Hi, Lauren. Many .pdf documents are actually pictures. As such, they must be processed through an optical character recognition program such as Open Book or Kurzweil. They show up as empty documents because the Adobe reader is a text reader, and there is no text in these documents.

Thank you.

Might it be language incompatilibyt?Languange incompatibility in Thunderbird Jaws scripts: any ideas?

Gerardo Corripio <gera1027@...>

HI guys:
Yesterday I gave a try with Jamal's Thunderbird Jaws scripts; Everything works great except that when I do Control+Shift+s, Control+Shift+i and the like to go to the different Inboxes, the scripts says Can't find Inbox, or Can't find Sent etc. AS background I use Spanish Windows7, Spanish Thunderbird and Spanish Jaws13; so my question is might this be because Thunderbird Spanish version has different first letter names in these folders? Enviados=Sent, Bandeja de Entrada=Inbox; what do these scripts base their finding Inbox, Sent and others? If it's the language, might there be a way to go in and modify these scripts to take into account these folder names? I'd rather stay away from experimenting, thus if you guys more knowledgeable than myself could maybe take a look and let me or Jamal know? Also might it make a different I'm using Thunderbird 3.1.3? Though they say they're for Thunderbird 6, they seem to work fine with my version of Thunderbird, except for not being able to navegate with shortcuts to the different folders. Any ideas?

Just go to Kurzweil, launch it, then go to open and select the document you want to open. The document will be scanned once it is opened, then you can save it as a text file.

Re: adobe reader, jaws 12 & Windows xp

Lauren

How do you access such files through Kurzweil, a program I have?

Sincerely,

Lauren

Hi, Lauren. Many .pdf documents are actually pictures. As such, they must be processed through an optical character recognition program such as Open Book or Kurzweil. They show up as empty documents because the Adobe reader is a text reader, and there is no text in these documents.

Thank you.

Or a lions club? especially before they have to use funds for tax reasons.

But State, Lions club and person funds may not do it Ariel so I like your
idea.

I wonder if Freedom has extra old versions laying around they could let you
have for a song.

Happy friday

Well if you are really going to college and visually impaired, then contact
your local OVR or BVS state agency and they should be able to assist you in
these needs and much more.

Hi folks,
This is Ariel. I'm just wondering if anyone here is interested in selling
JAWS Pro version 10 and up. I really can't afford its full price, but I am
in need to have this software. I recently started college, so I am on a
budget. I also had to purchase a lot of software for my classes, so I am
trying to save as much money as possible. If you guys are interested, please
contact me of list at arielsoxfan@gmail.com.
Thanks,
Ariel

The only way someone can sell you Jaws is if they have stopped using it.
They can't sell you an earlier version while they continue using a later one.

I closed Jaws14 and loaded Jaws9.
I then opened Adobe X and read a document successfully.
Can't speak for Jaws8.

David, I don't know for sure, but I wouldn't have thought so as the new
version of adobe wouldn't have been out when jaws 8 was written.
