in IE's tools/options and disabling them one by one to see if the cause of the crashes lies there. I don't have this problem with IE, but I do with Firefox. Computers are eccentric beings. Btw, I have XP Pro, not Windows 7.

Yes I'm having problems as well. I can't work out whether it was since a jaws update or an IE update. I'm guessing if I refer it to FS they will just blame IE.

Re: [Bulk] JAWS and Safe mode in Windows
Dave...
All,
I'm not going to use this registry file on any computer I own for the following reasons: 1. It was not stated but is written in the readme file that this is only for Windows 7. 2. The readme file is so pporly written that I just don't trust the author if they can't take the time to write coherently (that's prejudice I know, but that's the way I judge people -- the way they write). 3. Visiting this person's MySpace page causes me great concern over their outlook on life, in particular a song on the play list with the title: "Donald Duck - **** you in the ***" I've deleted this zip file from my computer and would not take a chance screwing up my registry with it. You decide on your own if you think it's worth the risk. Dave Carlson From my Dell Latitude 630, currently not nearly close enough for my comfortto my Audio Recording and Mixing Studios, San Francisco Bay Area. But I'll try to remedy that situation. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Georges Zeinoun" <george.zaynoun@comhem.se> To: <jfw@lists.the-jdh.com> Sent: Saturday, August 06, 2011 20:29 Subject: [Bulk] Re: JAWS and Safe mode in Windows I want it as well, is it impossible for somebody to type the link to it in a message or send the file to me? -- Georges Zeinoun Timmervägen 6A, 541 63 Skövde SWEDEN TEL: +46500201623 E-Mail: george.zaynoun@comhem.se Email services provided by the System Access Mobile Network. figured it out now wondering how it happened.
ken lawrence
Hi list members, ken here Just now, I arrowed down fast and went too far on live mail and something strange happened. I had somehow lost my password and things and couldn’t figure out why I was seeing storage folders and out box and all kinds of stuff. I tried to send a message hear, and that’s when I saw the who setupdialog as if I was using and signing into live mail for the first time. So what did I do exactlly I hit something about folders to store your messages on yourPC but not the server. and think the machine froze or something. it was when I arrowed down too far. so what exactly happened to windows live mail that made it forget everything. Also does anyone know how to click and where to click to download an update?

Re: What gives with disabled keystrokes (Problem solved!)
Marquette, Ed <Ed.Marquette@...>
I thought I'd drop you all a note regarding the problem with the disabled keystrokes. Your suggestions did convince me that the problem wasn't Windows 7 or JAWS, but rather, our own brain damaged implementation of Windows 7.
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
Apparently, at the network administrator level, one can determine, by so-called "Group Policy," what will and will not be permitted to execute on a system. When the security CZAR was finally convinced that Freedom Scientific wasn't subversive, he lifted the "blocking" of everything under the Freedom Scientific folder. After that, all ran as expected.

Subject: What gives with disabled keystrokes OK. I just wrote about the disappearance of the Jaws Task Manager, formerly enabled with Jaws key (Insert) plus F-10. Now, the keystroke for starting the Jaws dictionary has disappeared. Jaws key (insert) plus D used to start the Jaws dictionary manager. That is no longer the case. Even worse, when I press Jaws key (insert) plus F-2 and then press D to locate the Dictionary Manager, when I press ENTER actually to start the Dictionary Manager, the Dictionary Manager just goes away. Any idea what's going on? If this is what we get with Windows 7, I'll gladly go back to Windows XP. OK. There may be another issue. To get JAWS to run at all on our system, our IT security monkeys had sequentially to stop group policies from "blocking" certain DLLs. Do you think that might be the problem, i.e., they didn't stop the blocking of all needed DLLs? I.
